I am deliberate, consistent, and a travel junkie.

My Self-Summary

I'm Linda. I used to have a somewhat bitchy intro, but I took it out. But I'm still the same bitchy person, I swear. I consistently test as ISTJ, if you know what that means. And yeah, I guess I'm seeing someone again, but it's very casual right now. So well...we'll see.

I'm a person who knows what she wants. I mean, shit, I'm almost 30, I guess I should, right? I spent my early 20s not knowing what I wanted, but now I enjoy my job and my lifestyle, so I'm hoping to find a guy who feels the same about his own life. Not really looking for something excessively casual...again, got past all that in my early 20s.

I love traveling. I'm on a plane often once a month, and I don't intend for that to change anytime soon. (Seriously, I probably talk about travel in half of these questions coming up.) Long distance relationships aren't out of the question, but if you want me to relocate, you'd better be able to support my travel habit!

I enjoy your major American sports. I love watching major league baseball, especially the Yankees and of course the Rangers. I've never dated a man who will watch any sports w/ me regularly, but I'd like to! I like basketball too, but I usually only watch during the playoffs. I like football, but mostly just the Cowboys. I'm not so much into college sports, but mostly because I went to UNT. Ha!

I'm not into videogames. If you are, that's fine, just know that I expect you to realize that a naked lady is always more important. I'd like someone who can...ahem...keep up with me. And that's all I'll say about that subject--a gal needs to maintain some mystery!

I don't like okc's IM, so I disabled it. If you want my IM details, all you have to do is ask! =)

AND...one more thing. I got rid of my correct zipcode, because it pulled up "Fort Worth" when I really live more in the Irving/Arlington/Midcities HEB area, and I prefer Dallas (I lived there before moving to be closer to work, and I still go there regularly) to Fort Worth (haven't been to Fort Worth proper all year, and if I did go, I'd probably get lost like I often do in Fort Worth).

What I’m doing with my life

I work for an airline. I'm good at my job, and I love it. When I was a kid, I never thought I'd ever find a job that I loved. I'm glad I was wrong about that one.

And no, I'm not a flight attendant. Oh, but I do enjoy the flight benefits. I met my goal of taking 12 round trips for 2007. 2008's goals: visit a new country in which Spanish is the primary language (done! Costa Rica!), visit two new states (done: Wisconsin & Georgia!), revisit two cities I love (done: Chicago & Las Vegas!), & see at least one new museum (done! terror house in Budapest).

2009's trips so far: Atlantic City, New Orleans (Mardi Gras), NYC (the Met), DC (Smithsonian), Salt Lake City, Belgium (Brussels & Brugge) & the Netherlands (Maastricht), New England (New Hampshire & Maine), NY (Mets game), Vegas, and Biloxi & New Orleans (Halloween). I really, really want a man who will want to travel the world with me. If you're scared of flying or are not interested in ever getting a passport, it is probably not going to work out. That sounds like a joke, but it's not. Travel is a huge part of my life, and it's just not the same if a guy doesn't want to jump on a plane and share some adventures with me.

Also, I'm into couchsurfing. Haven't heard of it? Google it or search on wikipedia...see if it's for you! It comes in handy when I want to go somewhere in which I know no one. Instant friends!

I’m really good at

Sleeping. I promise. I can sleep through anything from car alarms to fire engines to nuclear war. And I can sleep in any circumstance...on the floor, leaning against the shower wall, in an airplane (comes in handy), sitting in a chair at a rock concert (only if the band is bad!), probably on jagged rocks too...also, I'm good at spelling. But it's fine if you don't spell well. It's just something useless that I'm good at.

The first things people usually notice about me

As much as I hate to admit it, my messy curly hair. I can't stand it, but anyone who doesn't have it will immediately notice it & love it. Much like Sioux City, IA decided to finally embrace having the airport code of SUX, I have decided to embrace my damn curls.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Honestly, I don't really know. I don't generally read the same books over and over. I'll pick up something because it looks interesting or a friend recommended it and probably just read it once, whether I love it or hate it. I love to read, but I don't really have a crazy full bookshelf, just a wallet full of library cards. If I had to pick some favorites, I'd say I really enjoy reading dystopias, chick lit, and travel books. Yeah, it varies.

Movies: Buffalo '66, Office Space, The Philadelphia Story, Dot the i, American History X, Amelie, Leon, Frida, All About My Mother, Run Lola Run, Kill Bill 2, Reservoir Dogs, North by Northwest. But I'll watch quite a variety of movies. If you have a recommendation for me, bring it on, and as long as it's not a meaningless action flick, I'll probably check it out. I'm really more the type to check out new films all the time rather than to watch old favorites regularly--similar to how I feel about books. Yeah, I use my library card for movies too.

As for TV: Project Runway, Desperate Housewives, The Office, 30 Rock, South Park, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Music: Bjork, Modest Mouse, the Beastie Boys, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, Muse, Placebo, Idlewild, Bright Eyes, Ferry Corsten, Deep Dish. local=Fair to Midland, the House Harkonnen, the Timeline Post, & the pAper chAse.

Foods: Italian & Mexican. Also, I don't eat red meat or pork, but I don't mind if you do. I might someday give up chicken, but I doubt I'd ever be able to stop w/ the seafood. I'm not much of a cook, but I love making salsa.

The six things I could never do without

My friends
My computer (helps me keep track of said friends when they aren't nearby!)
Music
Conditioner (I did mention my hair!)
Travel
Sleep

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Travel. As if you didn't know!

On a typical Friday night I am

Hanging out with friends or dicking around on the intarwebs.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

A lot of those personality awards don't apply to me at all. Less independent? I think not--I live alone and support myself completely. I'll visit foreign countries alone! Less adventurous? Please! Ask me about some of my crazy last-minute flights!

And I am a sucker for blue eyes.

You should message me if

You're around my age (25 < x < 35) (dating only--but I like friends of all ages!), you understand the aforementioned mathematical inequality, you're quirky, you have good taste in music or movies, you want to watch major league baseball with me, you want to travel with me, you want to have a weird conversation...and if you have more balls than I do. I've been looking my entire life for a man who's more ballsy than I am.

And one more thing. I wish to remain childfree. I am *not* interested in having children. Not the ones you already have, or my own in the future. This is 100% not up for debate, as I have the uterus, and you don't. If you have children, I am sure they are great, but they aren't for me. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate kids (I used to work in a children's library, in fact)--I just have no desire to be a mother or stepmother. I am content with the idea of someday being the really fun aunt. Please do not message me if you have even the slightest inkling that you may wish to be a father someday, because that's one reason my last relationship ended, and I'm not going to deal with it again.
