My Self-Summary
So I'm finally sitting down to write this, what a task! What does
one say in a self summary? Can we really define ourselves with a
few words on a profile? I don't believe we can truly express who we
are, unless perhaps you're some wordsmith who should be writing
novels. :P
I served 6 years in the Army even though I'm not pro-war. Like
many, I needed a way to get financed for college. Luckily I never
was sent to Iraq, as I'm sure that would have changed me as a
person in ways most likely to be negative. I never want to have to
kill someone. I finished my time with an honorable discharge in 08
and subsequently moved to Sacramento.
After spending some time unemployed and figuring out what I wanted
to do after get out of the server, I got a job as a communications
contractor. I did this for about 4 or 5 months before deciding to
go back to college since, you know, I did spend 6 years of my life
getting the money for it. lol.
Currently, I'm a full time student at Sacramento City College
majoring in Criminal Justice. I was wanting to go to law school but
now I'm starting to develop a strong interest in the arts, most
notably in photography. Soooooooo I may be changing my major. Who
doesn't do that like 3-4 times in a college career, right? :P
So now you know a bit about me, but you don't really know about who
I am. I'm a big kid at heart and I love to have fun. Going rock
climbing or snowboarding, camping or swimming, I love to have fun
outdoors. I like indoors activities just as much though. You won't
see me turning down a game of bowling or pool. Heck, I'll even
admit to playing DDR sometimes! Basically, if it's something fun,
I'm down.
I'm not all about parties but it's definitely great to hang out
with a group of people you know. I'm very social and people
interest me greatly. The human experience is an amazing and
wonderful thing that few seem to fully appreciate. I'm happy to be
alive and thriving.
At heart I'm just another big kid. Who really wants to ever grow up
completely, that's boring right? To describe myself more aptly, I'd
say I'm not only a kid at heart, but a romantic. It may sound
cheesy, but I like a lot of chick flicks and romantic comedies, as
well as kids films. Today I watched WALL-E and it was probably one
of the best films I've ever had the pleasure to experience. I'm
still into all the normal guy flicks though, action, adventure,
suspense, and even some anime.
Most people would call me a liberal. I'm against war and famine and
although I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, I'm still against the
torture of animals. As far as gay rights, I'm all for it. Why
should we withhold the rights of a group based on religious
prejudices when we have a system that is separate from religion?
Many of my friends are gay and I see no problem with that, I accept
them fully as who they are.
In short, I hope you don't accept the summary as who I am, because
I really feel that there is much more to someone than you could
ever truly express in a profile. We, as people, are as complicated
as cosmos and there are many layers and nuances in our
personalities. Never take someone at face value without exploring
who they are and maybe even trying to see things from their
viewpoint. :)
What I’m doing with my life
(old) Currently I'm going to Sac City College for a degree in
Criminal Justice. I'm currently thinking about changing my major to
photography. Other than that, I spend my time with friends and do
my best to enjoy life. (End Old)
I'm now living back in Oklahoma City spending my free time learning
and practising my photography.
I’m really good at
Let's see....I'm good at loving life and those around me,
appreciating the good things in life and the wonderful creatures
and people sharing the earth with me.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and my good-natured attitude.
The fact that I'm carefree and full of life and love.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
WALL-E. It's a Boy Girl Thing.
Thought to exist in the wild.
A language older than words.
Walking on water.
Endgame.
The six things I could never do without
Friends, Family, Food, Water, Shelter, Love.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where my life is heading and what I will do with the short time I
get in this world.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out with my friends or home enjoying a nice movie or playing a
video game. Sometimes I'll simply do some nice reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm very much into romance. When I see movies where people fall in
love, I think it is beautiful. I love to get those little tinglies
from a good romantic comedy. Some day I hope I meet the woman that
will give me those same feelings. :)
