My self-summary
While busy, I try to be well-rounded and do things that cover my interests outside of school/research. I like the arts and try to attend plays, galleries, movies, and concerts when possible. I enjoy exploring culture. I like sports and being active. And being a well informed citizen (I'm a bit of a news junkie). I live to travel, which explains half the reason I chose the profession that I did. My concern for the environment explains the other.
What I’m doing with my life
Hoping to eventually parlay what I do into something beneficial for the environment and society. Also, enjoying it.
I’m really good at
Procrastinating, remembering insignificant details, responsibly collecting and disposing of all my recycling, making a mean brunch, being ridiculously humble.
The first things people usually notice about me
Yes, apparently I have dimples. I was hoping they'd die away by the age of ten, but they're still here. Some dudes have told me that I have broad shoulders and muscular arms. Not much for flattery, but I'll take it. Thanks fellas!

I also like to think I have a style that suits Florida, color and flip flops are a must. So hopefully people notice that (common now, I ain't dressing up for myself...okay I kind of am, but it would be nice if others appreciated it too).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - Haven't done as much of this as I'd like because of school, but I read a decent amount of non fiction. I love Steinbeck though.

Movies - So many. I generally watch artsy films, political/action thrillers, and docs. And no, just because I'm an oceanographer doesn't mean I liked the Life Aquatic, but it does mean I like Finding Nemo.

Music - I enjoy a lot of stuff and spend a lot of time listening to music. I tend to like anything edgy and experimental - I'm always lookin to check out new stuff. Love live music.

Food - I like most anything veggie friendly and ethnic and open to try new things. Been on a sushi-kick lately though, maybe you'd like to join?

Shows - Currently watching House of Cards and Mad Men. Will start back up on West Wing and Parks & Rec soon. PBS News Hour and Charlie Rose too on the regs.

I'm always down to try new things, so recommendations welcome.
The six things I could never do without
Having spent several summers during my childhood in India, I can say, unequivocally, that all one really needs in life is indoor plumbing. But assuming that precondition is met:

- Breakfast!
- Podcasts
- Flip-flops
- My bike
- My unnecessary bi-weekly trips to Whole Foods

I'm fairly certain I'm the only person over the age of 18 who didn't list coffee. Never hopped on board that train. I think it's the last remaining vestiges of my inner youth that prevents me.

And my family and friends, of course.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm currently doing to reach my goals and what I need to do to attain them. Graduating. Socioeconomic, environmental, and gender/race issues. International/sustainable development. My next travel destination. Dating. Sports. Politics. The percentage of my time/money that goes towards attending weddings.

So yeah, I think a lot.
On a typical Friday night I am
My Friday nights are entirely typical: go out to bars, get pleasantly buzzed, go to sleep late, wake up late, and then curse myself for doing so before repeating the same thing the following week.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if're passionate, driven, fit, fun, have ideals and a sense of humor, or at least liberal-leaning.

Brownie points for those who try to hold on to their plastic bottles until they can be recycled rather than throwing them away at their earliest convenience. That's hype.

Or if you're none of these things, but still want to contact me, by all means...
