Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well I asked my friends how they'd describe me, and I was told for
the right amount of money they'd say whatever I wanted; not much
use here then! The other answer I received was that I was honest
and down to earth, which I like to think is true.
When I've had the chance to do something new, I've always gone for
it, so over the years I've done firewalking, worked as a radio DJ,
piloted a light aircraft and to cap it all, packed up my life in
the UK, and moved to Vancouver! Since then I've started snowshoeing
too so I think I can say that I'm at least a little adventurous,
and don't take the easy route, just because I can. Given how
quickly I've decided to do some of these things, you might think me
somewhat spontaneous too!
I have a good sense of humour, but it can be a bit dry sometimes so
I'm told. I can laugh at myself too, so no need to worry about
offending me too easily.
I'd like to meet someone kind, who at the very least tolerates my
occasional madcap behaviour or better still supports it!. Someone
who has hobbies and interests too, which if they're the same as
mine, we'd have something in common, if not then I'd have the
opportunity to learn about something new.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
At the moment, joining lots of new things to see what adventures I
can get up to in 2013.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Fixing things (except cars), or making useful items out of stuff
others would throw away.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Would love to say my smile, but who knows, probably my British
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I've been on a bit of a trashy sci-fi book reading spree lately,
but some of my favourite books of all time are:
Chickenhawk - Robert Mason
David Hewson's Nic Costa series
Ian Kellerman's Alex Delaware/Petra Connor books
Dan Abnett's Double Eagle
War of the Worlds - H.G. Wells
As for movies, I used to watch lots, but not so many these days as
I find they don't hold my interest as much as they did. Faves are
probably Star Wars (the original 3), Apocalypse Now, Zulu and the
original Italian Job.
When it comes to music, I like all sorts. Mostly I listen to rock
(most types) but my ipod also has blues, hip hop and classical on
there (amongst others). If I had to choose favourite artists/bands
it would have to be Pearl Jam, Iron Maiden or Joe Bonamassa, having
seen all of these live in the last few years.
Food, I like it! Pretty much happy to try anything, but I can't use
chopsticks at all, so if I can use a fork it's all good!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
1. The internet, without it I could be on here!
2. My car, it's nothing special but I love the freedom it gives
3. My paints and models, I need to be creative
4. Books, nothing like some good escapism!
5. Games (any sort), scratches the competitive itch
6. My camera, so I can capture the beautiful and inspiring images
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Lots of things, my mind never stops whirling! Often it's planning
trips or activities, thinking about hobby related projects or
forming opinions on current events.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
playing tabletop wargames with friends
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmm, well I think I can share this one, every year my mum sends me
sugar mice at Christmas, and has done since I was a child. You
might think it's sad, but it's just tradition!
