Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am sensitive, sensual, smart, compassionate and curious. Like my
partner, I am a work in progress who is still progressing. I'm
interested in good chemistry, real friendship and potential long
term partnership. Energy energizes me; creativity inspires me;
calmness calms me; resilience amazes me. I love to see good people
"win" and bad people loose. I adore my friends and family and like
to be surprised. I wish I was more patient in dealing with life's
many details. I hate bullies and cruelty and meanness; I think
animals have souls and that there is reality beyond what we can see
and touch. I respect science and art; life cannot sustain itself
I value time and fear that I will run out of it. I like my work, my
play and am grateful for the good life that I continue to have and
for every morning that greets me. I would like to meet that special
man who seeks emotional intimacy and acceptance, who lives his life
with humor, enthusiasm, intelligence and empathy, who is able to
discern what’s valuable from what’s expensive.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
The easy answer is that I work as a project management and QA
consultant and trainer in the IT environment, mostly for various
State agencies and most recently within the State prison system. I
learn what I need to know to do what I need to do; I don’t regard
myself as particularly technical. My major talent is listening to
people, and figuring out what needs to be done to make them (and
their projects) successful. I am a problem solver, a communicator,
and a writer, in my professional life and in my personal life. I
love music, the arts, movies, travel, good food and great romance.
I take great joy in nourishing friendships, in watching my animals
play, in reading good books, in exploring nature and witnessing
beauty and brilliance. I exercise to keep healthy and agile; I
dance but only for fun now; I like sports but don’t participate in
a lot of them; I want to learn more, do more, feel more, touch
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I’m really good at touching people. I’m a good friend and
communicator. I am creative by nature but don’t create enough
anymore. I am a writer, a manager, a mentor and a listener. I’m an
OK cook but eat out often. My virtual kids would say I’m a great
mom and role model; my daughter may/may not agree. My parents would
say I was a good daughter (at least part of the time). I am good at
learning and like it lots. I’m a good traveler, life manager and
business person. I commune with animals, small children, different
and/or smart people. My friends and colleagues tell me I have a
natural wit (even though I can’t tell a joke). I have a great ear
but can’t carry a tune (I sing mostly in cars when truly alone).
These things are better discovered than described………..
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
At first meeting, people usually say I’m striking (or thin, or fat,
or young or old). They may notice my hair, my eyes, my fashion
sense, my height (or not). People almost always notice that I’m
smart (some think that’s hot; some do not). Most people recognize
my warmth (sometimes I keep that hidden).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Recent reads include the 4 Twilight books (why not) , the Glass
Castle, Beautiful Boy, Water for Elephants, Kabul Beauty School,
Dreams from my Father, Infidel, magazines (National Geographic,
trade journals, other). Favorite movies (there are many) include
The Lion in Winter, Tombstone, Silverado, Godfather 1 & 2, and
a host of foreign films whose titles I would mispell. There's too
many music favorites to single them out ( I like every kind of
music, including some rap). I confess that I am a foodie; love
restaurants, creative and loving chefs (amateur or pro), and a wide
range of cuisines.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Other than the obvious (food, water, shelter), I could live without
most anything. The toughest would be friends, family and animals
(although my best skin creams, music, and enough money to live a
comfortable life shouldn’t be underestimated). Health is the deal
breaker, though. Without that, all things pale.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
.....the welfare of loved ones, the fate of the planet and the
economy, all the things for which I'm grateful, the thrill of
victory and the agony of defeat, trajedies and miracles, the
importance of love and good health, and once in a while and as
rarely as possible, the fear of aging and death........
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't know what a typical Friday night is but I do know what I
would like to add. Weekends, including Fridays, usually include
friends, movies, music, food, etc. (somewhere). There is
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The most private thing I'm willing to admit is that the most
incredible (and scariest) feeling in the world is to really love
