Watching / lurking on OK cupid for years, I've found that no one reads my profile. Hey! Wait! One person does every two months!!! Non-motivational to place blood, sweat, and tears into the perfect bon mot knowing they'll go unread - so I'm practical to a fault, I suppose.

I have also been building super-fast databases and recommendation engine math for a few years. I'd like, someday, to meet some of the people I'm > 90% "similar" to --- but I don't want to waste your time. I'm deeply crazy for my romantic partner, but having an intellectual coffee / beer together would be interesting - no romance or followup intended on either side - following standard "poly rules".

Because, really, most of these profiles are the same, but the recommendation % is very, very different. I want to see in person.

I love eating. Odds are, I know more about food than you do. Around here, I like all the smaller regional food places. Inexpensive, fast, with bright happy flavors. And a good burger. But it's all good - and I do mean all. I'd pause at eating monkey brain.

In books, I prefer excellent writing (falkner, palinchunk, stevensen) over all else. I read more fiction these days, maybe one every few weeks, as I'm falling asleep.

Music is another passion. I've been playing an instrument since I was a kid, and although I'll never put the time in to go pro, I've played in lots of bars and clubs. It's a hoot. I like the abstract and inscrutable, I like the raw and accessible. I especially love the freshness of live music, but not in festival environments where the musicians are far away and the sound is bad.

I like going to a movie every week. There's no television around the house, and I prefer going somewhere communal with a larger screen than my house for an immersive experience. I'll want to see the Coen brother's release on the first weekend, and was one of the few to see Grindhouse in the theaters.
