My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Welcome to my profile! My name's Carolyn

I'm a complete goofball, dorky, and passionate.

I laugh every chance I get and enjoy new experiences.

I'm a born and raised Floridian and I'm perfectly comfortable in the water and on the beach.

I moved to Massachusetts for vet school and I am so happy to have been able to experience these things called 'seasons' I'd heard so much about. The change in scenery and colder weather have been a blast.

I spent 5 months in Texas interning at a wildlife center with giraffes, rhinos, zebras, cockatoos. It was like living in an African safari.

I *love* to travel. I studied abroad in England. A couple summers ago I volunteered at a facility for elderly and disabled elephants in Sri Lanka and stopped in India on my way home. I was in the Galapagos in April/May of 2014 volunteering at an animal clinic there performing spays and neuters and then traveled for a bit. Soaking up the culture and people in a new place is my favorite high. I like being social and I firmly believe you should take every chance to experience all that life has to offer.

I'm an ENFP.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated from UF in August 2009 with a zoology degree. I took a year off in between undergrad and vet school during which I worked at the wildlife center I mentioned above. Started veterinary school in 2010, now moved to Syracuse for my first big kid job :-)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Playing the piano
Knowing all the lyrics to songs but never their names!
Reading peoples emotions

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I enjoy fantasy books, the Harry Potter book series is my favorite. I also loved reading Divergent, the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Hunger Games trilogy, Never Have Your Dog Stuffed.

Movies: The Way, Way Back, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Crazy Stupid Love, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Rush Hour, X-Men, Serenity, The Fifth Element, How to Train Your Dragon. I dislike psychological thrillers, but I will occasionally watch a scary movie when everybody else is doing it (I have fear of missing out) but it usually ends up with me awake that night thinking I'm seeing some demon from Paranormal Activity (Toby? Is that you?).

My music taste is all over the place. I enjoy alternative rock, acoustic music, dub step, anything that's got a good beat you can dance to, christian rock etc. Of Monsters and Men, M83, Mumford and Sons, Sean Paul, Birdy, Passion Pit, Placebo, Imagine Dragons, Disturbed, Shinedown, Linkin Park, Rocket Summer, Skrillex, Tiesto.

TV: Firefly, M*A*S*H*, old re-runs of Boy Meets World, Scrubs, Modern Family, New Girl, So You Think You Can Dance, just recently discovered Game of Thrones when I had a cold and finished all 3 seasons in less than a week. Needless to say I liked that show haha looking forward to season 4!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'm taking the definition of 'things' loosely:
a career to work towards and feel fulfillment in
traveling
animals
people
new adventures

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I often think about how I can fund travels and where I want to go.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It depends on the week. I enjoy going to a club, bar, or comedy show. I also have no problem sitting at home watching a movie, a good game of Cards Against Humanity, Catch Phrase, or Cranium with friends can be a blast. One of my favorite weekends in recent memory was a bunch of friends playing four square in the middle of their apartment parking lot and tossing a football around. Then having a bonfire with s'mores, beers and hotdogs afterwards.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I killed my Furby when I was a kid with our duck hunt gun (scrambled its little brain by its communication sensor thing) Whoops.

Anything in my profile resonated with you.

Bonus points if you like to travel and plan on doing so in your future, enjoy being around other people/being social, have confidence in yourself but aren't arrogant, are kind, and like dogs.

I am looking for someone that gets a high out of life, who loves living and wants to experience all this world has to offer. I want to find a person that doesn't think it's crazy to want to run around in the rain, or would stay up to watch a sunrise. If you would want to come with me to volunteer in a soup kitchen for a day, or go to India and participate in a Holi festival. Someone that wants to be a part of life's big moments. I want a partner in crime and someone that is as excited to be on this planet and wants to make the most of their time here.

“All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes but tries new places all the time.”
~ Paul Fussell
