I am sincere, honest, and a writer.

My Self-Summary

This profile will be a work in progress which will change evey now and then since I'm currently a work in progress that changes every now and then as well.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm a Front Desk Clerk/Night Auditor at a hotel. It is not the end all and be all, but it is a nice way to make a living and pay the bills for the time being.

In another life I used to work in the world of professional theatre as a stage and company manager (with a little bit of performance on the side). The theatre was my first love and I consider myself very fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to work in such an unique field. Will I ever go back? I don't know, but it did allow me to meet my second love...

...which is writing. When I'm not working, or even sometimes when I am, I'm writing. I've written songs, poems, theatrical plays, and screenplays. My (tentative) plan is to go back and get my MFA, in Play and/or Screen Writing, within the next year or so.

I’m really good at

I'm a good listener.

Having ridiculously weird, yet highly symbolic, dreams.

Being charmingly awkward.

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably my size. I'm a big guy. 6'3'' and 300lbs. I've been called a big teddy bear and that's pretty accurate.

After that, my red hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I'm not much of a reader, but do enjoy some of the classics: To Kill a Mockingbird and Of Mice and Men. The Five People You Meet in Heaven is also fantastic. I'm a bit of a geek and love the Star Trek New Frontier series.

Movies: Ghostbusters, Garden State, Star Trek, (500) Days of Summer, District 9, Rounders, The Dark Knight, The Shawshank Redemption, Away We Go, Good Will Hunting, Swingers, and Serenity are some of my favorites.

Television: The Office, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, How I Met Your Mother, Lost, Firefly, Chuck, The West Wing, Eli Stone, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Family Guy to name a few.

Music: I've found that I enjoy specific songs more than I like bands overall. Bands with songs that I like include, but are not limited to: Barenaked Ladies, Something Corporate, Red Hot Chili Peppers, 30 Seconds to Mars, The Killers, Guster, Jimmy Eat World, Incubus, Third Eye Blind, and Matchbox Twenty. I really listen to just about anything except hardcore rap and country.

Food: I love to grill. Hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, steak... you name it, I'll grill it. I'm also a big fan of breakfast foods: pancakes, sausage, eggs, and French toast.

The six things I could never do without

1) The ability to be creative.
2) A good camp/bonfire on a warm summer night.
3) The ability to be both pragmatic and an idealist when the mood strikes.
4) The ability to laugh at myself and the world in which I live.
5) A computer.
6) The internet.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Tomorrow. Figuring out what I want and how to make that happen.

About what I'll say if I ever win an award for something that I write.

I wonder if we'll ever live in a world where everyone is truly tolerate of those around them.

What I would do if I ever won the lottery.

On a typical Friday night I am

If I'm not working, or doing something specific, then I'm probably doing some combination of writing and/or relaxing.

I like playing games (video: anything sports related, Rock Band, and Mario Kart. board: Risk, Monopoly, and Settlers of Cattan. card: No Limit Texas Hold 'Em and Pitch.)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I sucked my thumb until I was 18. It's a touch more embarrassing than private, but there it is.

I don't think the matching questions are very accurate because they're based on so many conditions and what-ifs. I mean, of course I might possibly consider driving a moose from Mexico to Canada if my partner asked me, but it doesn't mean I'd necessarily actually do it, you know?

You should message me if you want to.

Or if you have an Australian accent.
