I am funloving, earthy, and complex.

My Self-Summary

I guess I am a bit of an oddity (and a bit odd, but that's a different tale) on OKCupid. I say this because I am not looking for love or sex...well, not here at any rate. While love and sex are in fact very excellent things, I'm here looking for friends, since my wife takes care of the love/sex department.

I like to think of myself as an ordinary kind of guy, although the truth is much different. Ordinary guys drink beer, watch football, avoid chick flicks, and so on. I don't drink beer (but loves me some hard liquor from time to time), I never really got into football (I prefer hockey when the players don't puss out of playing for a season because they want more money), and I actually find myself liking several movies of the "chick flick" genre.

Truth be told, I am a bit quirky. I'm a jokester at heart, preferring to infuse any situation with a bit of comedy. I tend to hang out with girls more often than guys (because frankly, girls look and smell prettier). I'm a bit more creative and sensitive, since I'm a pisces (not that I pay any attention to astrology...I just noticed I match my sign fairly well). I'm just a plain old loveable nerd - band/drama geek - class clown.

What I’m doing with my life

I am currently employed in the field of broadcast television, altough I have no formal training in it, I actually just fell into the job several years ago. I produce and edit a 30 minute sports replay show that airs early morning on our local FOX affiliate.

Now that my wife is finally graduating from college, I will be enrolling at OSU-OKC for the Fall semester in 2006, working towards an Associates Degree in Horticulture Technology, with hopes of starting my own landscape design company, focusing on gardens, lawns and water ponds.

I’m really good at

Many Many things, including, but not limited to:

lawncare, music (singing, bass guitar, kazoo), video production using non-professional equipment, slacking off, making a tasty pitcher of ice tea, laughing, graphic layout and design, loitering, swearing, cooking pizza and breakfast stuff, annoying my wife, making my son laugh, understanding mechanical things, spending money on useless crap, aggravating my boss, thinking I am cooler than I really am, cracking up my coworkers, typing, grammer, spelling, and some other stuff I can't think of right now.

The first things people usually notice about me

Currently, my bald head, beacuse I foolishly shaved it a few days ago. Note to self...never do that again. UPDATE: My hair is returning. Instead of looking like Mr. Clean, I look more like a tennis ball. Not much of an improvement, really.

When I don't look like Mr. Clean/Tennis Ball Head, I've been told people notice my eyes first. As my wife constantly says, I've been cursed with the beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes women would kill for.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

*Books - Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the Harry Potter series, some History and historical fiction, and anything written by Dave Barry. I like reading, but hate trying to find new stuff to read. School helped with this, since I always had to read some new crap for a test, and I usually wound up liking what I read.

*Movies - I like movies quite a bit, and will watch most anything except for modern slasher/horror movies, which use shock value more than plot. I go for comedies most of the time, but have a pretty mixed bag of favorites: Ocean's 11 (Pitt and Clooney version), Snatch, Kill Bill 1 & 2, LOTR Trilogy, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Anything by Kevin Smith, Most Anything by Tim Burton, Anything with Tom Hanks (except Joe vs. Volcano), Ewan McGregor, Cameron Diaz, and the aforementioned chick flick choices include Sweet Home Alabama, The Sweetest Thing. I have plenty more movies, but you'll have to ask me to bore you with them later on.

*Music - I like all types of music except for original country/western (Hank WIlliams, Patsy Cline). I grew up listening to the Seattle sounds of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and particularly Soundgarden. I graduated into the Smashing Pumpkins after that, and I still consider them my favorite band, though they are now non-existant. I occasionally listen to rap, but prefer stuff from the early 90's when I do. I like good hard rock (Slipknot, Linkin Park, SOAD), and lately I've really gotten into the blues, particularly B.B. King

*Food - I like Italian, Oriental, and Mexican foods the best. Some favorites include homeade chicken pizza, real homestyle italian sausage-peppers-pasta, biscotti, Lo Mein, Egg Rolls and Spring Rolls, Fajitas, Huevos Rancheros. I am also a big country breakfast fanatic (chicken fried steak, eggs with pepper and onions, hash browns, biscuits and gravy).

The six things I could never do without

1. Access to some kind of nature 2. Companionship 3. Iced Tea 4. Some kind of Internet Access from time to time 5. Wife and Son 6. Music

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I want to do in the future, will I ever be able to go back to school, my dream house on 1 - 2 acres of woodlands with a pond, landscape ideas for my current home, awesomer landscape ideas for my dream home, how much I despise my current job, how to make some mad cash, did I lock the front door, how I can improve the things I see around me, how much wood could a woodchuck chuck?

On a typical Friday night I am

At work, beacuse my work schedule sucks. I have worked weekend nights for 5 years now, and it irritates me to no end. Although it is nice getting out and doing stuff on Wednesday and Thursday while everyone else is at work.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a secret agent in the CIA...... Hmmm...I think I just blew my cover...damn.

You should message me if

You desire to give me gold, diamonds, platinum, or any other precious stones or metals;

Want to have wild monkey sex with me (that is a joke, of course...);

I sound like someone you would enjoy talking to;

If I make you laugh;

Seriously, I'll be glad to take any valuables you would like to give me, since my dream house isn't going to be cheap.

As long as you aren't affilated with the Church of Scientology, feel free to drop me a line.

Also feel free to check out my Livejournal, username there is frontstretch_dv as well.
