My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
**Disclaimer** if I've rated you highly, I probably think we'd be a good match, or at the very least I think your pretty attractive in a full person sense. I'm usually not one to email matches who I suspect won't feel the same, so I will usually email those who have also rated me highly. A little passive aggressive? Sure. But I also know that women on this site get inundated with emails from guys, and I think it helps to keep one's expectations of online dating within some happy parameters.

Somewhat recently returned from 7 months in Tajikistan doing research. I love it here, but also can't wait to return for short trips.

Not the biggest fan of writing an online profile, so I'm sure to fumble through this. All that follows may or may not be true dependent upon circumstances and perspective...

I'm mature, educated and masculine and am ready to meet a dynamite woman who can keep up with my wit, tolerate my occasional stubbornness, and keep my ego in check. I'm supportive and nurturing to the things that make my partner happy and fulfilled and expect the same. I feel a lot younger than I am, but I'm a lot smarter than I was then...

Always up for something new...or old. Please be well traveled - or at least willing to entertain going to strange and interesting places.

I like having conversations about things that matter - at least I/we think matter. I also like sharing those quiet moments with a partner when you don't have to talk - you can just be. Together. I like to take my date to a show or dinner, with or without our friends; we decide.

Texting is great but I like to call when its important or something could be misunderstood; I'm more careful about that these days. I am thankful that this site doesn't have so many (solely) pet photos. I'm not interested in dating your dog/cat, though I'm sure I'll love to play with it!

In the short run I could be diverted into some temporary fun, but in the long run I am looking for a committed relationship. That said, I've been around the block and know that such relationships are best not rushed and there is a lot of fun and exploration first. So mostly I am looking to meet new people casually and allow good things to happen if the chemistry is right.
