I am honest, casual, and a man of patience.

My Self-Summary

I'm a dedicated half time parent of two amazing young boys [5 1/2 & 7.] I have them every other night and every other weekend. [you wouldn't be meeting them until we had an established relationship...]

I've been a self-employed Architect for the past ten years - have been in the profession for the past twenty.

To me the world and the issues of the day are shades of grey. There are few absolutes in life [death and taxes?] 'always' and 'never' are not part of my regular vocabulary - I tend to say 'it depends'.

I have the beliefs of a Secular Humanist and I am a Taoist in my thoughts and actions.

What I’m doing with my life

Currently going with the ebb and the flow...

I’m really good at

being on time
minutia
exploring the options
city driving
relaxing on the beach

The first things people usually notice about me

my positive attitude

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

laughing through Christopher Moore's works ['Lamb' and 'Dirty Job' are my favorites], the occasional Dean Koonz, working through the classics that I missed out on in school ['Moby Dick' etc...], 'The Tao of Pooh', 'Blindness' and 'Seeing' by Jose Saramago, 'Shipping News' by E . Annie Proulx, just finished 'Under the Volcano' by Malcom Lowry, all the 'Harry Potters', 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy many more...

I like most music [I can take reggae and hip hop in small amounts] but I regularly listen to: jazz, indie rock, 'hillbilly at harvard' on WHRB, 'the playground' on WERS...some names..M Ward, Radiohead, Springsteen...too may to list

I like movies [mostly netflix but will go to the movie theatre for summer blockbusters/ epic/ James Bond etc.] Almost any genre. All time favorites [in no particular order]: 'Alien', 'National Treasure', 'Pirates' trilogy, 'Tampopo', 'Kill Bill' [1&2] [actually anything by Tarantino, Bruckheimer, Rodriguez, Jackson...]
TV [again mostly through netflix] BSG, LOST, Sopranos, Inspector Morse, The Wire, Veronica Mars, Firefly/ Serenity, Arrested Development,

try to eat in 'the Zone', but it's hard to resist: slow roasted pork, home made caesar salad,. 'green mountain gringo salsa on bearito's blue corn chips' [they've both got those things down!] I am a coffee snob [if you'd like to know why, I'd be happy to set up a coffee tasting with you.]

The six things I could never do without

I don't know about 'never' but mostly:

my macbook pro -running parallels for my CAD system [my best of both OS worlds mobile office]

my children

sleep [although due to the children mentioned above, I don't always get enough of this]

good coffee [required due to the previous two in the list]

the beach [or more specifically the ocean at the beach]

Qtips [to get the sand out of my ears after the beach]

I spend a lot of time thinking about

how to get everything done that needs to be done and still have some downtime

what to do during my downtime

how to convince clients to 'super insulate' their homes

moss [the green stuff, not the Kate.]

poorly designed houses [occupational hazard]

On a typical Friday night I am

w/ the boys: it's movie night

alone: movie at home or walking in the city or out with a friend

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

OK, two things here:
first:
I'm one of those 'Nice Guys' your mother told you to find [and I am trying to figure out if and why we 'do' finish last!]

and second:
I don't mind if you have children [I would accept them lovingly] but, I don't want to father any more children from my loins

You should message me if

you embrace that fact that I have children and [eventually] all that goes with it.

and

the tests we've taken here say we may be compatible...[well, who knows if that actually means anything!]

and

you like 'nice guys' [though not for target practice!]
