I am thoughtful, considerate, and sblounskched.
My Self-Summary
I am a polyamorous nerdy engineering guy. I spend my time listening
to NPR, talking about politics, and visiting with friends/family. I
am very open and I often engage fundy religious folk in arguments
about gay rights. I like playing soccer, basketball, video games
and my wife enjoys crafts and cooking. BTW if anybody could hook me
up with a good pickup soccer game in Philly I would be in debt to
you.
I played D & D in my past life in Michigan (something which my
wife makes total fun of me for). I was the DM of my group, and it
was great fun but quite time consuming so I have since eschewed it
for my wife, children, and my girlfriend (victoria5) and her
husband, who are the absolute best things I have found in Philly
since I've moved here (a total okcupid success story). I'm very
satisfied with my life now but I'd love to share my happiness with
others...are you going to be the next success story?
I grew up in Ohio, did my undergrad there and then moved to
Michigan and went to grad school... and now I'm here in Philly with
my wife, 3 year old son, and our newborn who is a joy to us,
feeling a little out of place as a mid-westerner (what's up with
servers at restaurants not being nice)... oh well.
Right now the wife is connected to another man and is not that
interested in more relationships. My wife would definitely be
interested in meeting new people and hanging out but not
necessarily forming another intimate bond besides the two she's
balancing... I am looking for an honest person to hang out with and
make friends with and form a bond.
A few factoids for your consideration....
1) If you're open, fun, understanding, and caring then you
definately are the right person for me...
2) If the fact that I'm married and have a kid scares you, I'm
sorry... it doesn't bother my wife or myself, perhaps you should
just move on to the next profile (though I've been told your
missing out on a very laid back fun time). I have an extremely
healthy relationship with my spouse. I require that my
relationships are level-headed (and caring at the same time) with
open communication. Drama queens need not apply...
What I’m doing with my life
Update: I just got a new job.... its hard to believe I'm not a
postdoc anymore after 13 years of higher education and i finally
have a real job in the field. I'm now at a pharma company working
on a couple different medicines that could help my mom and my
dad....
The first things people usually notice about me
I wear a kippah
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Favorites...
Movies... 1st place by far...Shawshank Redemption. A couple other
good ones of note in
Drama: Seven, Braveheart
Comedy: Superbad, Office Space
Epic: Lord of the Rings
Odd but good (and hard to find): Chutney Popcorn (about an Indian
family including the lesbian daughter... its really good [my wife
loves it too])
Kiddie: Cars (though I'm a little tired of it after seeing the
thing 100+ times with my son)
Music... eclectic tastes... anything from bluegrass to Fuel to
Johnny Cash to Metallica to Tupac to Toby Keith... (if its good
I'll listen to it)
Books: Ethical slut, 1981, The Good Earth
Food: Indian, Thai, and Vietnamese
I spend a lot of time thinking about
why people put up with miserable relationships for so long???
-update...
hmmm.... after my last failed relationship (a few months ago...
actually the first relationship I've had go sour since before I met
my wife a decade ago), I have come to understand that love is a
force that can bypass even the most logically minded people.
Alas... that warm close feeling was and always will (hopefully) be
worth it.
A love lost is still a love once enjoyed.
On a typical Friday night I am
having a home cooked meal with my family (fridays are family night)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I miss my family back home. Its hard to see them because we live so
far away.
You should message me if
You would like to talk about something funny or intellegent.... you
take life as it comes and are happy to meet a REAL person who
treats everyone he meets with the utmost respect and
consideration.... no pressure involved.... Message me if you would
like to try something new; hang out with someone who is polyamorous
and would like to have a no-nonsense, open, intellegent
relationship. 100% honesty required and given; relationship games
are for junior high not intelligent adults.
I know it is annoying to people who message and don't get a
response so I would like to clarify my "bi" status so people won't
misinterpret my profile. I have been in one serious M to M
relationship in my life (back in the college days) and I really
cared for that individual. I like to think of sexuality as a scale
from completely homosexual - evenly bi - completely heterosexual. I
fall very close to the heterosexual side of this scale.
Update- I think I'm feeling brave enough now to eshew my societal
fears and date anyone male or female. I think I should point out
that I'm almost always with my kids, so if you don't like children,
then perhaps I'm not the right choice for you.
In fact, I'd really love if I could meet someone who has children
and wouldn't mind taking the kids to the park, zoo, etc. I'd also
like someone to play sports such as soccer/basketball/ultimate
frisbee/disc golf with..... or perhaps someone who would like to
try out rock band/guitar hero for fun [I own the games and its way
more fun with more people]. If any of these things sound fun [or
better yet, all of them], send me a message
