My Self-Summary

Nay-Sayers and "you can't do that" types...don't bother ! Positive, optimistic, fun-loving people only, please. Adaptability is a must, meaning that you are okay with a rip-roaring good time just as much as a mellow, relaxing evening. I prefer spontaneity more so than rigid, no-deviation structure when it comes to getting to know someone…it’s much more genuine. I am comfortable in my skin, so you should be too ! People enjoy my quick wit and bit of humorous sarcasm....as do I. It keeps my mind sharp and is fun !

What I’m doing with my life

A lot ! I'm not a work-aholic by any means, but at the same time I fill in the gaps between work and sleep pretty well. I strive for a simple, fulfilling existence. I spend time with my kids when I have them and try to make that fun and memorable for them. I also really enjoy spending time with friends, old and new. Right now, my son's football season occupies my early evenings during the week, but that is about to wrap up for the year, and I'll be breathing a sigh of relief LOL ! In a more general sense, I like keeping busy. I'm not a big TV watcher and....not hugely interested in video games, either, so ladies REJOICE !!! You won't be a video game widow with me !

I’m really good at

Relating to most people in some way. I have experienced quite a few things in my life, and by design. For example, I have a Bucket List of sorts, and was able to check off "Visit all 50 States" in June of this year ! Finished it with Alaska :) The point is....varied experiences make for great memories, fuller lives, and add interesting layers to your personality.

The first things people usually notice about me

They notice that I can relate with them without doing the "one-upmanship" thing that I see from some folks. You know the type: "Really ? That's nothing. One time I....." It's a pet-peeve of mine. This isn't a contest, it's getting to know people.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Tom Clancy works for me ! And, I like to read about various thoughts/theories in the world of finance.

Movies: Any clever comedy, such as Burn After Reading. (I know, it's kind of a dark comedy, but it IS clever). I've never been big on Sci-Fi/Fantasy, but made exceptions as a kid (and still do) for the original three Star Wars. All-time favorite: A River Runs Through It.

Music: I'm not locked into any one particular genre. It's a feeling thing. If I feel feisty...Rock/Alternative. Nostalgic...80s & 90s. Mellow/relaxed...James Taylor, etc. You get the idea !

Food: As long as it's not still wiggling, I'm pretty flexible.

The six things I could never do without

Food, Water, My house keys, my guitars, the outdoors, and of course my kids when they are with me !

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what my next interesting experience will be. This year it was a trip to Alaska, next year.... ??? But it's fun to figure out !

On a typical Friday night I am

hanging out with my two awesome kids or my friends ! Friday nights are pretty casual either way. I like to get out and am fond of unwinding from a busy week on Friday. We usually meet up at a neighborhood pub, have a drink, and figure out the rest of the evening from there.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

This thing says I'm "More of a Planner." Depends on the seriousness of the situation I suppose. But for fun and socializing, I like to just go with the flow :-)
