I am pinkish, squishy, and alive.

My Self-Summary

So, do you...like...stuff?

My main interests are spending time with friends, computers, electronics, photography, music (dance, trance, some rock and metal, live gigs, concerts), playing pool, cooking, wine, or going for a walk somewhere. I'm currently slowly teaching myself to play the guitar.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm working four days a week as a computer programmer for a small company (which I really enjoy), and the rest of the time I either spend with friends, work on my own projects, or entertain myself with my other interests.

I’m really good at

Thinking, talking, discussing, listening, entertaining, puns. When I was at uni, I got a degree in computer science, so I must be good at being a computer nerd as well (or is that computer geek.. I can never remember which is the good one.)

The first things people usually notice about me

I look (and behave?) younger than I really am. Sometimes I'm happy to let other people do the talking, so I can seem quiet the first time people meet me. If I've got something to say, I'll say it though. At other times, I have to be careful not to talk too much. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(a) Books: Science fiction, drama, crime, and the weekly New Scientist magazine. I read one or two books a week, sometimes at the expense of getting enough sleep.

(b) Movies: Most genres, from mindless action movies, through to art-house films. A few of my most-watched movies are Run Lola Run, Amelie, Office Space, and Ferris Bueller's day off. I also like TV (minus the ads): Arrested Development, Black Books, Mythbusters, QI, Simpsons, Damages, ... .

(c) Music: Dance, trance, some rock and metal, live gigs, concerts. I can tolerate pretty much anything else, even if I don't really enjoy it. I don't listen to commercial radio at all, my preference is for 94.5FBi (usually while at work). The last few gigs I've been to were Salmonella Dub, UNKLE, Infected Mushroom, Clutch, and Isis. More details on what I'm listening to this week is at http://www.last.fm/user/sstteevvee

(d) Foods: All sorts.. Thai, Japanese and Indian are my three favourite "exotic" foods. I'm capable of cooking a decent meal without burning my house down, too.

The six things I could never do without

There isn't anything I'd say I could never do without. Things I'd definitely miss a lot are my friends, the internet, computers, books, and being able to get outside into the sun.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

People, life, the world, how I fit into those. Most of the time I'm thinking about whatever I'm doing, or about various projects I have on the go.

On a typical Friday night I am

Over at a friend's place (or having friends over to mine), having a BBQ, a few quiet drinks, and relaxing. Sometimes head off to the movies, or a cafe. Occasionally go out to gigs, or clubbing.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That I'm using OkCupid .. though I suspect that you now know that one :)

You should message me if

If you think we have something in common, or you want to chat. Happy to make new friends, because.. (a) friends are good things to have, and (b) if you're going to find "the one", I think its more likely to be someone who is a friend first.
