My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to Portland in the summer of 2012 from half-way across the country, and it has been the best thing I have ever done. I love it here. Sadly I haven't done as much exploring as I would like to. If you're a native Oregonian maybe you could suggest some places, or even like to go exploring together?

I'm very patient and cool-headed. It takes a lot to rile me up. That doesn't mean I'm lazy or a push-over, I just tend to take the tortoise approach to life rather than the hare.

I will take any excuse I can to get in the kitchen and cook. Friends getting together, birthdays, potlucks at work... I love baking cakes and cookies especially. New-York-style cheesecake is my specialty

I'm a self-described geek with a little nerd and dork thrown in for flavor and I'm hoping to find the same. I'm looking for a girl who can appreciate my love for all things science fiction and fantasy.

Bonus points if you play any sort of roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons or Pathfinder, or are at least open to trying said games.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Currently I'm working as a security guard, though that's not my life's ambition. Once I have finances squared away I plan on returning to college and getting a degree in Psychology. I've always found helping people through their rough times rewarding and I think I would like to make a career out of it.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Figuring out how to do things. I'm the proverbial jack of all trades. I have had many many hobbies over the years that range all the way from cake decorating to making chainmail armor. I'm pretty diverse! :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I love books by R.A. Salvatore, Margaret Weis, and Tracy Hickman. Also adore H.P. Lovecraft's horror short stories.

As for Movies I enjoy a wide variety, but my favorites include: Boondock Saints, Moulin Rouge, Labyrinth, Legend, The Dark Crystal, Princess Bride, History of the World pt. 1, The Three Musketeers (Disney, 1993), Repo: The Genetic Opera, Anything Kung-fu theater (the older and cheesier the better), Serenity, Sanjuro, Yojimbo, and The Avengers.

For TV Shows: Firefly, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Ranma 1/2, Rorouni Kenshin, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Full Metal Alchemist, Eureka, Sherlock, Top Gear (BBC), Whose Line is it Anyways (Sooo excited for the new show coming out this summer), MacGyver, Knight Rider, Dexter, Powerpuff Girls (Yes, the Powerpuff Girls), and How it's Made.

For Music, Anything that I can understand the words to and doesn't preach messages of hate. Some of my favorite artists are: Celtic Woman, Evanescence, Loreena McKennitt, and Linkin Park.

Food: Yes, please.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The Internet. It's an endless font of information.
My dog. She's an amazingly sweet girl.
My computer. It's how I keep in touch with friends from around the world.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Traveling. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit Ireland earlier this year (2014) and I'm dying to visit more countries when I have the chance.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Likely working. If not I'm out gaming with friends or sitting at home chatting with friends online. I would love to find someone who would enjoy a night in playing video games or watching movies, or even gearing up for a weekend camping trip.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I collect Living Dead Dolls and really anything that's creepy-cute. That's not super private or anything, but lots of people look at guys weird when they collect things of that nature. What can I say. I find little zombie dolls adorable. :)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're the kind of person who believes that friendship and love don't have to be mutually exclusive. You think that a day spent watching back to back episodes of Firefly would not be a wasted day. You have trouble deciding WHICH costume you will wear to the anime convention. Or if you would just like to chat and see where things go. :)
