My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty liberal socially. I like to hang out and get to know lot's of different types of people. I don't like being around really hyper conservative people that can't take a joke. I prefer to hang out with friends and talk and drink rather than go to a dance club. When I go out I like going to bars that have dart boards and pool tables. I hate staying in hotels so when I go on vacation I like to camp. I can do tents or campers but prefer tents. My ideal vacations usually involve a lot of trees with white stripes on them (the Appalachian Trail) or some sort of paddle. I prefer forests and beaches to cities and theme parks. I prefer dark beers and straight whiskey to Bud Light and mixed drinks. I ride my motorcycle whenever I can. I am pretty honest and easy going and prefer people who are the same. I really dislike judgy people that only want to know or hang out with other people who are just like them.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Moving forward. Looking for new things to do and enjoying each day the best I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Riding my motorcycle when it's running. Building stuff in my woodworking shop. Canoeing and Kayaking. Walking. I walk as good as anyone I know. Moving sleeping toddlers. I have a 78% success rate on the difficult to master car seat to bed without waking maneuver.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm bald. have been since I was like 27. I refuse to comb over or try products. Haven't paid for a hair cut in nearly a decade. Also I usually come off as a bit of a smart ass but I genuinely like people and care about them, unless they suck. Really I just say what I think is obvious. I don't like people that put up a front or think they they are perfect and everyone else should try to be to. I'm not perfect and not really interested in someone who is because I will probably just disappoint them. I just think if we were more honest with each other and quit trying to be perfect all the time we could get along better.

Books: Dr. Zhivago, Wuthering Heights, Life on the Mississippi, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Companero (a biography of Ernesto Guevara)
Movies: Thin Red Line, Apocalypse Now, The Breakfast Club, Sin Nombre, Hotel Rwanda, Crash. Anything that examines people in conflict. I also like stupid comedies like Borat and The Dictator.
Music: Bruce Cockburn, The Tragically Hipp, Kate Bush and a bunch of other crap, Street Sweeper Social Club.
Shows: Dexter, The Killing, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, a bunch of British and Australian stuff on Hulu. Democracy Now and The Daily Show is where I get my news. I love Community and Parks and Recreation. I wish Ron Swanson was my real dad.
Food: Indian food, Salmon, Asparagus, Bacon Cheeseburgers and just about anything that doesn't involve eggplant. I know it's weird but eggplant is about the only food I just can't choke down. I love grilled meats, especially grilled lamb.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A Bike (I've just always needed to have a motorcycle in my life)
A good pair of hiking boots
I'm sure there is something else....
OK after tonight's meal I decided rosemary (the herb not the chic with the demon possessed baby) and Guinness.
Whiskey, all of it, Scotch, Irish, Bourbon and yes even Canadian even though it's all blended.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

I've actually cried during every Gray's Anatomy episode this season. Please don't tell anybody because if you do I'll deny it.
