My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So I guess it's about time for an update/rewrite. Been trying to get back into this dating thing again for about 2 years now. What I have noticed is that there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to dating as a grown up. But, it's kinda like the lottery. You can't win if you don't play.

I like to think I am pretty easy going and down to earth. I have been told that I "do every day life well" and that "I'm the realist person out". I'm still not certain I know what either of those things means but I like to think they were said as compliments. I am pretty liberal socially. I relate more to Bernie Sanders than Hillary Clinton. I'm responsible, have a job and a descent credit score. I'm told those things matter.

My idea of a good time is road tripping somewhere and staying in my pop up camper or tent near a beach or lake and spending the days paddling or hiking. I detest staying in hotels.

I just got back from a 29 day road trip with my 5 year old son. Just the two of us all the way to Baja California and back in my truck dragging a 15 year old camper behind. I was going to help out with a school build and decided it would be our vacation. Saw the Grand Canyon. It's really really big.

So that's me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Teaching. Learning. Observing. Exploring.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Teaching. Building things. Teaching kids how to build things. Communicating. Being a father.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm bald. have been since I was like 27. I refuse to comb over or try products. Haven't paid for a hair cut in nearly a decade. Also I usually come off as a bit of a smart ass but I genuinely like people and care about them, unless they suck. Really I just say what I think is obvious. I don't like people that put up a front or think they they are perfect and everyone else should try to be to. I'm not perfect and not really interested in someone who is because I will probably just disappoint them. I just think if we were more honest with each other and quit trying to be perfect all the time we could get along better.

Books: Dr. Zhivago, Wuthering Heights, Life on the Mississippi, Pedagogy of the Oppressed, Companero (a biography of Ernesto Guevara)
Movies: Thin Red Line, Apocalypse Now, The Breakfast Club, Sin Nombre, Hotel Rwanda, Crash. Anything that examines people in conflict. I also like stupid comedies like Borat and The Dictator.
Music: Bruce Cockburn, The Tragically Hipp, Kate Bush and a bunch of other crap, Street Sweeper Social Club.
Shows: Dexter, The Killing, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, a bunch of British and Australian stuff on Hulu. Democracy Now and The Daily Show is where I get my news. I love Community and Parks and Recreation. I wish Ron Swanson was my real dad.
Food: Indian food, Salmon, Asparagus, Bacon Cheeseburgers and just about anything that doesn't involve eggplant. I know it's weird but eggplant is about the only food I just can't choke down. I love grilled meats, especially grilled lamb.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
