I am simple, practical, direct, and honest.

My Self-Summary

Here we go -- try not to fall asleep. I am an ethical vegan (pure vegetarian), without a single country that I can call "home". Born in France, I have American/German citizenship and have lived much of my life in the UK. I now live in rural Hawaii, where I own a successful business.

My good points: Honest, hard-working, successful, intelligent, practical, faithful, humorous... not so good points: I am somewhat shy, I don't drive, and I am quite pessimistic about the future of life on this planet.

Although I work with computers, I prefer the outdoors - travelling, walking, working, enjoying nature. I prefer the simple life, away from cities: I live happily, simply and not wastefully. I tend to think about the future as much as today.

I have a son (1997) and daughter (2000) living with me part of the time. Although I do not need to have more children, I love children and would welcome more.

A few things are important to me in a future partner, but most are not. I would like to meet someone who abhors cruelty and is happy with a vegetarian lifestyle. Someone who does not smoke, drink excessively or take drugs. Someone who appreciates the simple things in life and a peaceful lifestyle. Probably someone my age or younger, not significantly overweight. I am not religious, and have difficulty relating to people who let religion dominate their life.

The following things are not important to me: Location, nationality, race, height, level of education, language, number of children.

What I’m doing with my life

Working... waiting... hoping for some interesting changes.

I’m really good at

Complaining out loud about the state of our world to anyone who will listen. Programming computers. Fixing and making things. Being boring.

The first things people usually notice about me

Nothing that I can think of -- I don't meet all that many people, and I'm not too noticeable!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

BOOKS - Ah, if only I had the time to read. I would love to be able to spend time reading in a hammock by the beach or a waterfall, but there is always so much to be done... perhaps my priorities need reorganising.

MOVIES - Anything with a plot. That always helps. Something entirely different from Napoleon Dynamite, for example.

MUSIC - Almost anything before 2000, except "noise" (hard rock, etc.). After 2000... well, I gave up trying to weed out the garbage and have since been listening to all the MP3s I downloaded with Napster.

FOOD - Anything plant-based. Vegan Chinese food is my favorite; I don't like mushrooms or olives. I don't know why - I've *tried* to like them, believe me.

The six things I could never do without

Being a simple person, the only things I need are the basic essentials (no need to list those, right?) and the love of my life. I suppose electricity is also useful.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Which path to take through life. That's why I'm here.

On a typical Friday night I am

Working, watching a movie or playing with my children.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a recovering workaholic.

You should message me if

You don't mind meeting a vegan who's not into the things that most men are -- sports, cars, alcohol, and whose aim is a serious long-term relationship. Life is short, and wandering aimlessly through it doesn't make it any longer!
