Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Has anyone else noticed that the quiver function seems to either
give a grand slam or strike out altogether?
I had a random evening free, so I thought I'd update my profile,
which I haven't done in a while. Bear with me :P
I'm ... hmm, sorry...having a hard time keeping a train of thought
here. Part of me wants to write a very straightforward summary of
myself, other parts want to go into a long boring narrative that
neither you nor myself actually wanna yawn through, and another
part of me just wants to make you guess everything and just message
me if you think I'm attractive. I'll split the difference:
7) ... ok, bored with making lists.
I beat myself up when I do someone injustice. I don't care for
people who are unwittingly pretentious. I'm always polite, but not
always kind (although, in a perfect existence, I wish I could be).
When I'm committed I'm committed 100%, otherwise I'm completely
rational about my decisions.
I don't waste my time with chasing things I cannot have, but I try
not to sabotage myself from having things that I want. I usually
try to borrow from the experience of others, but I am just becoming
mature enough to realize that it doesn't matter how fucking hard
you try to avoid life, it's gonna find you out and kick your ass
anyway. So you might as well make a mistake boldly and proudly, and
embrace yourself for your flaws as well as your strengths.
I tend to be attracted to things which challenge/scare me a little.
I have a fear of heights, but that doesn't stop me from pursuing
them. I am a little [LOT] afraid of guys I'm attracted to, but I'm
learning not to let that get in my way :P
I'm a Midwesterner. A Norwegian/German guy, who is interested in
just about everything and what I'm not interested in I want to
figure out. I guess that's enough blurbing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I am working as a freelance violinist. I teach students
in a broad age range (my youngest student is 4 my oldest student is
in his 60's), and I perform chamber music, folk-music concerts, and
in several orchestras, and I dabble in lots of different styles in
other genres. I'm looking for the next step.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hmmmm....stepping over the line, hooking people up, keeping my life
drama free, keeping secrets, processing logic, using all the tools
at my disposal to figure something out, losing my keys, being about
10 minutes late to everything, and flirting [with women...still
trying to figure out how flirting with guys works].
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
........that I'm tall, blonde, I seem like a douche (upon
acquaintance, from what I'm told), and hmmm....idk, maybe you
should tell me lol. Or not...oh yeah, that I'm polite. And
foreign (even though I'm really not).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Oh geez. List time.
Books: I go with classics I grew up reading. Tom Sawyer, Treasure
Island, the Andromeda Strain (or ANYTHING by Michael Crichton)
Journey to the Center of the Eart (or ANYTHING by Jules
Movies: depends on my mood...movies that made the biggest
impression on me were My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Schindler's List
(cried like a baby...both times), Goodbye Lenin, Finding Neverland,
The Undefeated, and Inglorious Basterds.
Food? It would be easier to write what I don't like: tomatoes, very
very sweet things (i.e. cake), too much deep fried food, avocado,
strawberries, and watermelon.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Ok, I'm just going to ask the obvious question...where did they
come up with 6 things? Was there a study done that figured out that
there are 6 essential things in everyone's life? Google could
probably answer this for me, but I don't feel like praying right
1) ...ok, just spent an obscene amount of time thinking about this.
A car. Not necessarily my car, but transportation in general.
2) Intimacy. That means whatever you want it to mean. Let your
imagination be your guide.
3) Toilet Paper.
4) Money to buy food with.
5) Something to do.
6) Clean body/flattering clothes.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My brain travels in really fun swirls. I thought about my favorite
Blog (Hyperbole and a Half), then thought about dead babies, then
thought about abortion, then about political parties in this
country, then about race, then about demographics, then about
urban/rural dichotomy, then about Europe, then about how I wanna go
to Germany/Norway, then about fashion trends in Europe, how they
trickle back here, then about the social ramifications of the way
we dress/materialism/labels, then I thought about where I'm going
in life....and how I can't decide if I wanna fit a specific genre
or just kinda exist in limbo, and then thinking that this kind of
thinking is attracting people who are really not attractive, then
that I am really shallow, then that I can't be shallow and still
think like this...then I don't know. I'm done rambling. Don't read
this paragraph. I should have put that at the beginning.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Rehearsing? Partying, or hanging out with friends, travelling,
performing, at a movie, having awesome...ahem...tutoring sessions,
idk...I'm an Aries. I'm doing whatever strikes my fancy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I think this is the most neglected box in Cupid. I have lots of
private things I'm willing to admit (and even more that I'm
2) [I'll explain why I began with two in a minute] That I know a
lot about astrology, and I don't care if I believe it or not. I
study it for it's own sake...it's just fun and ALWAYS a good
3) I love hockey (That's not really private...just thought I should
throw it in there). Pretty much because of the violence.
3) (yes, I repeated the number since the previous three didn't
count) I am ONLY attracted to attractive guys. Wrap your brain
around that one. You know who you are.
1) That I think people who just write "It's private, so I won't
tell you" miss the point of this box entirely. (I was going to put
this one first, but I decided that could be considered offensive to
4) I teach and perform violin for a living. Yep, starving artist is
5) I have lost my debit card at least 5 times.
6) I am not a virgin.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are confident, open to new ideas, but tend to be along the more
traditional lines, handsome, fit, and earnest. I find that I get
along very well with men and women who are bisexual, although I
only date men. I don't care to receive lots of messages; I'd prefer
to get a few that matter.
