I’m a Torontonian, though I had a pretty serious thing going with Montreal for a while. I love biking, making stuff and puttering around outside. I managed to turn a pretty sad looking patch of dirt into a vegetable garden last year. Some people might find this domestic, but it felt pretty bad-ass.

When I get the chance, I like to kayak, and I’m learning how to box (but I’m not very good at either). I read a lot (I am better at this). I have pretty varied tastes, though you’re more likely to find me reading science fiction than chick-lit.

I’m an extroverted introvert, if that’s even a thing, which is to say that I am waaaaayyyyy more shy then I come across in public.

I love musicals a lot more than I probably should (or frequently admit). I also love to sing in the shower. I am under no illusions that the way I sound to myself in the shower could land me a part on Broadway. I will not make you listen to musical soundtracks. Or me singing in the shower. I also like music that has objectively better street cred.

I think I am warm-hearted but I don't know if that is something a person can say about themselves without sounding like a giant turd.

In case you were wondering, I like conditional sentences. A lot.

I work in game design and web design, with an eye toward building
educational tools for youth. It’s pretty fulfilling and I work from home, which is kind of the dream.

I’m also getting better at home improvement, carpentry, gardening, and general end-of-days life skills.

Amassing an intimidating pile of books I want to read about technology, game design, social psychology and contemporary and classic literature. (And working on building my much smaller pile of books I already have
read.)

And I occasionally do stand-up comedy.

Writing, writing things that make people laugh, worrying about things
of little to no consequence, occasionally writing things of little to no
consequence. Lying in a heap on a bed or a sofa watching TV, whizzing
around the city on my bike and I make a pretty awesome spicy basil sauce with lightly stir-fried vegetables and glass noodles.

My favorite book is Middlemarch by George Elliot
My favorite movie is Little Miss Sunshine and/or Moon.
My favorite show is Parks & Rec and/or 30 Rock.
My favorite food is probably a bagel.

Big musichead lately have been really into Tunng, Alt-J, MS MR, and Tor. Also Fiona Apple.

UGH my friend who is helping me edit this said that my 6 things are cheesy.
