My self-summary
The move is on! After searching for a year, I found my slice of heaven in Glorieta, NM!

I still stream KPFT radio, Houston's Pacifica Radio station, but have confidence in Santa Fe public radio, too. I haven't owned a television in 15 years, and still don't miss it. When travelling there may be a movie that I will watch.

I like non-conformist thinking. Non-conformist behaviour tends towards voting and how I spend money.

I have travelled extensively for work, and want to generally travel
more within the US to see what I have been missing. I enjoy travelling on my motorcycle, but having horses in the new backyard has cut into that pastime. I am looking forward to travelling to parks with my horse. All who wander are not lost...

Dang, but I just reviewed my personality analysis, and am embarrassed! That settles it, I am answering no more of those fool questions that are supposed to increase your match potential!

Most personality tests I have taken indicate that I am an INTJ, which seems consistent with my experience of myself. I am the middle son and middle child of 7. Dag gum!

I do not have, want nor am I working to get six pack abs. I do not care if you do or not.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm sure it's being misspent, just like my youth. Ah, but I was so much older then; I'm younger than that now.

The line at the end of Saving Private Ryan sums up my life's ambition. When Ryan is visiting the grave of the men who died to save him, he asks his wife to tell him that he has lived a good life, since that is the only justification for the sacrifice those people made for him. I want my efforts to have justified my existence.

Trying to enjoy it by riding my horse and ignoring irritating people; if you voted for Romney, we are probably not going to hit it off in any positive sense. Watching the direction of this country over the recent past has caused me to become as politically active as I have ever been, volunteering to make "get out the vote" calls, and writing my state and federal representatives. Now, if only they would listen. Pfht.

I am reasonably fit, walk, ride my horse and motorcycle on a weekly or more frequent basis. I am height/weight proportionate and eat reasonably.

I like to go out to wildlife sanctuaries too see unusual birds and wildlife, even though I don't know nor give a flip what their botanical or even common names are.
I’m really good at
Divorce, apparently - I've done it twice. Well, really. I would like to explore other options.
The first things people usually notice about me
Other than that thumb growing out of my forehead, maybe it is my debonair wit and existential charm? Probably that I am casually dressed, and can be shy in large groups. Go figure.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I suffer Adult Onset Book Addiction: So many books, so little time. Some of my favorites are Pirzig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance; Campbell's Hero with a Thousand Faces; Wilson's The Moral Sense. For light reading anything by Richard Russo. Ian Rankin is good, too.

Movies: Not so many. Blazing Saddles; History of the World, Part I; Marx Brothers, most anything else except horror films. Worlds Fastest Indian is wonderful.

Music: Like books, too much to listen to, too little time. Anything but Rap and Hip Hop type stuff. Love that good ol' rock & roll, bebop, big band, some country (Marty Robbins, Willie, Guy Clarke, Hays Carll, etc).

Food: See books and music above. Very little that I have tried that I do not like, and very little I haven't tried.
The six things I could never do without
1a - Love
1b - Friendship
2 - Motorcycles
3 - Internet
4 - Music
5- Outdoor Activities
6 - Pockets
7 - Horses
and that really is 8, so bite me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Who I might meet on OKC, hoping that she has all her own teeth and hair, even if she has to produce a receipt to prove ownership. She would be able to reed and cifer reel gud. Education is important, dag nabbit all. And of course, a sense of humor would be wonderful. If I get serious, you would definitely be told before hand. Something like "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!"

Other thoughts include where this country is headed; where to go on the next vacation; whether she will really have a receipt.
On a typical Friday night I am
Yup, definitely am. Much more often than I am not.
