My self-summary
Brooklyn-born, Boston-raised, recently Brooklyn-returned (original packaging still mostly intact). I'll probably claim native status if I ever learn street names.

When I grow up, I either want to be Bret Victor or a MythBuster. Sometimes I bring up algorithms at parties. I like to play with power tools, and I'm usually happiest when I'm exhausted and covered in sawdust and grime. I also have an unhealthy emotional dependency on the NFL, and incorporate Beastie Boys lyrics into casual conversation.

The Sesame Street character I most identify with is Oscar the Grouch.
What I’m doing with my life
I went to college expecting to study government. I left with a degree in studio art and computer science. Logically, now I work as an editor and designer for a publishing firm.

In my spare time, I watch a lot of hockey and pretend to make sculpture. You can check out my work here if you care to.
I’m really good at
Assembling IKEA furniture, drunk.
Making things with molten bronze, sober.
Grammar and copyediting, somewhere in between.
Over-thinking TV and movies, all states.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have enormous eyebrows. Or that I have blue polystyrene foam dust clinging to my clothes, hair and everything else. Really depends on the day.

Thing you probably wouldn't notice: Due to a high school wrestling injury, my right shoulder hangs slightly lower than my left.

Movies: The Prestige, Children of Men, Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, 12 Monkeys, A History of Violence, Objectified, Helvetica, Brick, Forrest Gump, Miracle

The six things I could never do without
1. Breaking Bad
2. Puppies
3. Root access
4. Audiobooks
5. Parenthetical asides
6. Football and hockey
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Fonts, user interface metaphors, kerning, cell phones, meta-journalism, race horse names, chili recipes, verb agreement for teams named for mass nouns, and who the developer was at OKCupid who thought of automatically appending _Taco to the end of taken user names.
On a typical Friday night I am
Start with a disco nap, then either a dive bar where I can hear the words I'm saying, or a concert where I can't.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can probably recite the entirety of Mean Girls verbatim, and I cried when Adam Yauch died.
