My self-summary
I've been thinking lately about finally writing something here. I'll let you know how that ends.
I’m really good at
Reading, talking, writing, thinking, knowing abstruse or unfashionable things. Anything useless and decorative, to sum it up. Unfortunately, I don't think I look Apollonian enough to pull it off.

The first things people usually notice about me
Really... I don't have the slightest idea.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Too many. Borges, Homer, Shakespeare, Dante, the Greek tragedians, Musil, Kundera, Kafka, Keats, Margarite Yourcenar, Carpentier, Rulfo, Bulgakov, Chejov, Cavafis, Will Cuppy, Karel Capek, Pessoa, Nabokov, Tolstoi, Henry James, Saki, Wilde, Chesterton, Philip Larkin, Stevenson, Shaw, Ibsen, Stendhal, Giuseppe de Lampedusa,Thomas Mann, Robert Frost, Gunter Grass and many more.

I'm a not great fan of cinema, though I have my favorite directors and movies. I'm a big fan of Akira Kurosawa's movies and I like the work of Stanley Kubrick and Ridley Scott; from the latter, specially his old movies (before Thelma & Louis) and some other directors (Milos Forman, for instance). But I mainly go to the movies in order to have fun. And I really enjoy old, screwball comedies.

Music: I like classical, jazz and rock, which says so much that it doesn't say anything. So, trying to be more specific: I like the Baroque period and I'm a big J. S. Bach fan (I like his sons too, specially C. P. E.); I like Renaissance music, specially Palestrina and the Flemish composers; definitively enjoy the Galante and Classical periods and then jump to Erik Satie (sorry, but I can't stand Romantic and post-Romantic music, I know the fault is in me) and the avant-garde: Stravinsky, Varèse, Shostakovich, Schönberg, Webern, et al, including more contemporary composer such as Lutoslawski, Penderecki, Gubaidulina or Boulez.

I really love jazz, from swing to post-bop. A few musicians that in my opinion never do wrong are: Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Charles Mingus, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Barney Kessel, Eric Dolphy, Ahmad Jamal, Eric Garland, Allan Holdsworth, Keith Jarrett, Scott Henderson, Enrico Pieranunzi and we better leave it at that.

I still like progressive rock and I'm a big fan of Rush. When I'm in the mood, I like listening to Jethro Tull, Yes, Queen, Kansas, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Frank Zappa, Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Watchtower, Queensrÿche, Phish, Primus, Mike Keneally and some others. The Barenaked Ladies are a guilty pleasure.

Humor is quite important for me, so I'm a big fan of Les Luthiers, Monty Python and stand-up comedians such as: Dara O'Briain, Robin Williams, Russell Peters, Chris Rock, Dylan Moran, Dave Chappelle, Bill Maher, Ed Byrne, Jimmy Carr, Eddie Izzard, Richard Jeni, Bill Bailey, Tom Lehrer and some others. Big fan of Rowan Atkinson, not as Mr. Bean, but in The Black Adder and similar things. I also like Woody Allen's stand-up, that guy is genius. And Tim Minchin! Recently discovered him, and I'm afraid I have a man crush on this guy.

Libros: Demasiados.

¡Y Tim Minchin!
The six things I could never do without
Books, music, chocolate & women. You can keep the other two.

Libros, música, chocolate y mujeres. Os podéis quedar con las otras dos.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
These days, about evolutionary biology. Reading Pinker, Jared Diamond, Dawkins, Geoffrey Miller, Matt Ridley and the like. It's a really fascinating issue.
On a typical Friday night I am
I don't usually have typical Friday nights. Lately, I'm feeling a bit tired by Friday so I'm staying at home.
