What I’m doing with my life
I'm a writer, currently working at a games company in South London. I love my job and the company, but I miss the immediacy and camaraderie of working in theatre. Some day soon, I hope to write another play, or finally finish this poetry collection I've been lugging about for two years.

I'm enjoying getting to know London, one adventure (pub) at a time. It's been 2 years now and I'm beginning to feel like I have a grip on the fur at the scruff of its neck. Now I'm trying to figure out how to steer the damn thing and it's proving to be a real stubborn son of a bitch. Veteran city wranglers: please share your tips.
I’m really good at
Undermining the rule of three. Finding the humour in weird situations. Accepting whatever's thrown at me. Except spanners.
The first things people usually notice about me
My mancunian accent, probably. That and my tendency to suddenly get lost staring at or thinking about something unexpected.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
"Sister Ray" gets me moving. This song reaches up through the soles of my feet, grabs my spine and shakes me 'til my teeth rattle.

Studying Butler and Carter in my first year at University had a huge effect on the way I look at the world. "Nights at the Circus" remains one of my favourite books, and I often wish I could puree "Gender Trouble" and administer it as a corrective beverage. I've just realised how sinister "corrective beverage" sounds.

I spent 5 days alone, locked in my flat in order to finish my dissertation on Philip K. Dick's notion of identity. I haven't really been the same since. Phil would be my first dead celebrity dinner guests.

John Darnielle's lyrics never fail to stun me. "Matthew 25:21" is beauty, crystalline and pure.

I wish I was Patti Smith on a daily basis. Seriously, guys. "Babelogue". "Piss Factory". "Land". Yes, please.

My sense of humour lies somewhere at the unholy joining of Community and Venture Bros.

I eat occasionally.
The six things I could never do without
Pen & paper, coffee, books, friends, imagination, impulse.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever I'm currently working on. Thousand-yard stares come as standard. Beyond that: the future, my friends, the beauty to be found in apocalyptic scenarios, reality, dreams and theatre.
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now, I'm spending most of them with the guys from work fretting over the latest release. I enjoy this (cf: loving my job), but crave the wanton destruction of earlier years. Let me know if you're up for causing mayhem.
