My self-summary
I'm a game programmer and designer, and a recent transplant to the bay area and enjoying the hell out of life.

Going to be moving from South Bay and closer to SF sometime in the next few months.

I'm always learning, and like to try new things at every opportunity.
What I’m doing with my life
After a few empty months right after moving out here, I suddenly have a life. I spend a few nights a week skating, and try to get in a night of karaoke up in SF if there's time.

I always have a game project or two I'm working on outside of work, always have a book I'm trying to read, and always have way to many things I want to do.
I’m really good at
I love to sing. Here's LOVE and Home.

And trying to get better at
Roller skating. I'm training to become a roller derby official. Hardest workouts in my life. Completely worth it.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have intense eyes and my voice carries.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Just a few...

The Alchemist, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, anything by Tom Robbins, a bunch of science fiction.

What Dreams May Come, Up, La vita e bella

House of Cards, Doctor Who

Recent playlists have included the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Daft Punk, the Bird and the Bee, and Chipzel. My mother raised me on Counting Crows, Cake, Cracker, Wilco, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

I live on avacados, grapes, and carrots. I tend to get a bit more decadent when making meals with friends, and we recently made bacon wrapped venison burgers topped with caramelized bacon. The dopamine rush lasted for hours.
The six things I could never do without
Music. Playing piano with friends late at night. Singing in the shower, in the car, on the sidewalk. Dancing with a hundred other bodies, all in sync with a singe pulse.

Warm, rainy afternoons, the kind where you lie in bed with a good book or next to someone.

That feeling when you meet someone new and something in your brain flickers and you become inextricably linked and your conversations burn brightly and you know you've found a friend that's different from the rest.

Questions that need to be answered. Demanding our attention.

The family I was born into and the family I've chosen.

The ability to be in awe of the world even as I learn more about it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What really makes people happy, how I can work that into my game designs, and how I can work pieces of game design that make people happy back into the real world. I could write about this for hours, and it wouldn't ever get technical. The other programmers don't like it when I get on this track...
On a typical Friday night I am
Trying to stay out of the rut of a routine, finding something new to do if possible.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am terrified of specializing, of pigeonholing myself into one set of skills, and at the same time, I am fearful that my stubborn resolve to remain a jack of all trades will leave me unable to compete in a world where generalists aren't relevant.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 22–31
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
You can't stop being in awe with the world.
