I got tired of waiting for the wind to shift and send me in a
new direction, and decided to stir things up a bit. At the end of
the summer I gave my landlord notice, then started looking for a
new place to live and new employment. About a week later, a good
friend mentioned they had a room opening up in their place. So I
packed up and moved to the Boston area. After about two months of
searching, I've located employment as well, and will be diving back
into Software Engineering after a three year hiatus.
Outside of any time I spend earning the money to support my
lifestyle (and learning new skills), I try to be constantly doing
something I find rewarding in some way. For scheduled stuff, I'm in
a weekly board
game group, a vintage dance group, and a
Renaissance
dance class, which should leave me with two work nights and
plenty of weekend time for more spontaneous activities. I hate it
when I spend time watching TV or wandering around the Internet
because I can't come up with anything better to do; doing so
because I want to is a different matter. I try to learn to
cook new foods
regularly.
It seems like this section of my profile is getting changed
every month or two right now, so check back. Change is still
definitely in the air around me.
