My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was born in southern Illinois and resided for the first fourteen years of my life on the outskirts of a small community named Dix (I kid you not, the town motto is "Come grow with us.") From there I went to a public boarding school for nerds, the Illinois Math and Science Academy, near Chicago, and then proceeded to matriculate to Illinois Wesleyan University where I majored in biology. I've completed my masters in computational neuroscience and dropped out (I'm in good company) of my grad degree in computer science. I'm now working as a natural language processing / machine learning engineer at a soon to be relevant start up company in Dallas. Currently I have a single roommate, a dog named Zelda, whom I call Zelly-Belly.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Planting trees, trying to build statistical models of language so I can get my computer to talk to people that I don't want to / because that's my job, watching netflix, doing other stuff.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Coming up with things I wish I were better at.
Procrastinating.
Deflections.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How much better I look on TV.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Shows: Arrested Development, Archer, Venture Brothers, House of Cards, Game of Thrones (books too!), True Detective, Fargo

Music: Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Iron and Wine, Manu Chao, Tool, Ben Folds, APC, Pretty Lights, Justice, Skrillex...

Books: Life of Pi, Confederacy of Dunces (Admittedly these represent about 2/3 of all the fiction I've read since high school), almost anything by Richard Dawkins, A Brief History of Nearly Everything (Bill Bryson), and almost anything by Brian Greene or Stephen Hawking.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Zelly-Belly (not really a thing)
Guitar
Toe Shoes
Computer
Blueberries
Butter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Computational models of neural networks and in general how the brain works - I am a neuroscientist.
Food.
What Zelly is thinking about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sometimes out with friends, but at a disturbingly increasing frequency I find myself wanting to go to sleep before midnight.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It's embarrassing, but for the first years of my life I cried a lot.
