My self-summary
hello!

my name is mitch, and I'm a quirky guy powered entirely by the vapors of hopes and dreams. I draw cartoons, ride bikes, write stories, chase geese, speak honestly and try my hardest to live a life I can feel okay living.

I'm very easy to get along with, love to laugh, appreciate small things in life and hate writing about myself like I'm putting myself up for auction. it's easier to get to know me by talking to me because, well, I like getting to know you too.

I also just moved back to my homeland after spending 6 years in Pittsburgh. I miss primanti brothers.
What I’m doing with my life
I've been cartooning since I was 15, it's one of my passions in life, but unfortunately, a cartoonists' salary is hardly anything to live off of.

to pay the bills, I work as a designer, strategist and public relations guy at a local restaurant chain.

other than that, I'm actively involved in bicycle safety advocacy, burrito supremacy and tons of other eclectic interests – like banjos, scooters, cooking and experimental artforms.
I’m really good at
I love writing, drawing and making things with my hands and brain. I also find it oddly satisfying to mop floors.

I'm also amazing at putting my socks on. it's actually kind of hard, if you think about it – and I can do it in just a few minutes! i know what you're thinking: I'm not some kind of wizard. all it takes is practice.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall. Very, very tall. My voice is also smooth like velvet, or so I've been told.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
my favorite movie of all time is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. If you have a healthy appreciation for that movie, we'll get along swimmingly.

I love pizza. if you have a pizza, I will probably date the pizza instead of you. i'm sorry, but that's just the way it is.

I am a storied and devoted south park fan and simpsons scholar. give me any simpsons line, and I will be able to tell you what episode it came out of - which is a pretty funny talent considering that it's all space that could be used for learning CPR or something.

as for music, I have musical taste that others will describe as 'crazy.' I like unique, melodic tunes – Sufjan Steven's non-Age of Adz work, Woodie Guthrie, The Innocence Mission, Five Iron Frenzy and so forth. i can't imagine it's confined to any one genre.
The six things I could never do without
1) my smartphone. we are attached at the hip.
2) my bikes. i have three!
3) processed cheese. everybody secretly loves it – I just love it openly.
4) internets. I was raised by the village that is the Web.
5) tea. the drink of true men everywhere.
6) friends. every man needs a base.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
absurdism. I am a disciple of albert camus, so I spend a lot of time thinking about the tenets and core conflicts of existentialism and man's acknowledgement and right dismissal of the distance between what we empirically know to be 'natural order' and the abstractions we create to overcome the harsh truth of life – that the universe is utterly indifferent to our struggles, and that we alone hold the key to...

oh. um. I meant, NINJA TURTLES!!!!
On a typical Friday night I am
ridin' bikes with my buddies, hanging out with my neighbor, reading a book, or writing erotic fanfiction of Garfield and Marmaduke.

(I'm kidding about the last part. the courts say that i'm not allowed to anymore!)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a genetic disorder called Marfan Syndrome. I really am an open book about it, so, please, ask away if you're curious.

also, once I pushed a man in front of a train in Reno. nice guy, though.
