I am that I am, I am energy, and matter embodied.

My Self-Summary

I love health, wellness, and connecting... with life, nature, people, and true self. Life and the universe are leading me in new and exciting unexpected directions. Perhaps we are meant to connect.

I am blessed to enjoy the company of an amazing group of friends who share my passion for healthy living, raw vegan diet, spirituality, healing, and community.

I am thriving on my raw vegan diet, love it, and love all the wonderful things it does for me, both inside and out. My friend's website, www.rawbeets.com, is a fun intro point for those who are unfamiliar. I am passionate about health but don't preach or judge.

I'm big-hearted, grounded, head in the stars, and find subtle geeky tendencies intriguing.

I live a healthy life and love Portland. I also enjoy such things as yoga, my bike, trees, and martial arts.

Very recently I joined a group of friends (at the last minute) to hike up Mount St Helens and I'm so glad I did! Every challenging step, sore muscle, and bit of sunburn was so worth it because I grew beyond myself in multiple ways. Love you guys!

What I’m doing with my life

I got my bachelor's in the sciences and may continue into a health/naturopathic direction... time will tell. Caring is something I do, though I've finally learned to direct it at myself more than I used to. I'm between employers and excited to see what the future holds.

I’m really good at

I enjoy martial arts, have dabbled in yoga, and think bikes are neat.

I have a tendency to pun and make obscure quasi-scientific references in otherwise normal conversation.

The first things people usually notice about me

Depending on the context, I can be perceived as very serious, or quite silly. Balance is good.

I work hard and exhibit Taurean determination. I'm also friendly and outgoing by nature, but not an open book.

Some things you might not notice:
I'm spiritual but not religious; I appreciate where eastern and western philosophies meet, sense the oneness of apparently divergent science and mysticism. I find intrigue in the goddess framework, mother earth, and various other perspectives. Books of ancient wisdoms and new age perspective grace my bookshelf (along with accumulated theistic references). The tao.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Most of my favorite movies and tv shows are sci-fi based; there's some good stuff out there. I'm between books at the moment. Esoteric learning on google videos has become interesting lately.

Some recent/current/upcoming reads include The China Study, Northern Lights/The Golden Compass, Body Electronics, Jubb's Cell Rejuvenaton.

I have a tendency to rock out to a number of different types of music. Michael Franti, Trevor Hall, and Joshua Radin frequent my Pandora station, but I enjoy a variety of other music as well. (Listing bands is can be a dizzying experience.) A few other favorites: Trillian Green, Mat Kearney... with the new addition of Coheed and Cambria..

I love my raw vegan diet and I love what it does for me on so many levels. I do have allergies to gluten, dairy, yeasts, and soy, so I'm more interested in raiding the local natural foods store than going to a formal dinner out. Tea is nice, too.

I'm pretty health-focused, and savor my chocolate addiction; raw cacao is way better than the average chocolate... Mmmm...

I get to hang out with my friends for delicious healthy meals every weekend... much fun ensues...

The six things I could never do without

Laughter, greens, mangos (a stretch, but I sure do love them), sunshine, trees, and hugs.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I think about my garden a lot, how it's growing, and what I'm going to do with the lovely produce it will produce.

I'm a bit of a type-a personality, so my brain always finds something to occupy itself with: work, to-do lists, the state of the world, and (albeit less frequently) Oregon Country Fair (one of my favorite things in the world!). I also my spend time thinking about next amazing raw vegan meal that my friends and I will be chef-ing.

On a typical Friday night I am

Trying tasty new raw (pie?) recipes with my friends, soaking in the hot tub (love having the gym in walking distance), enjoying Portland, or possibly soaking up vitamin R&R.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

um, I think all my answers are pretty revealing... :)
