Outgoing, vibrant and laid back, I lived out west for many years. I'm self-employed (creative sort) with various responsibilities outside of work that allow me to travel a bit. I've lived all over the US at different times and have traveled extensively here. I was quite the "wild child" in my younger days and still have a certain edge that tends to give me a wicked, sharp, quick sense of humor - but I can also be a total goof, as my friends will attest to.

My friends mean the world to me and are an important part of my life as my "chosen family." I've never been married but have been in long term relationships (one was 8 yrs) and I have no children. I do have dogs (large ones), so if hair on your clothes is annoying, you may not be spending much time at my house ;)

I am very open minded / non-judgmental about most all subjects. I try to see both sides of most heated debates (I don't always manage to do that, but I do try!) I tend to be opinionated but I understand that opinions are always able to be changed when I'm presented with good evidence. I have had diverse and strange life experiences that have given me the background I need to be able to talk to anybody about anything and I have love it when I get the chance to do so.

I do have a couple tattoos (not very big ones though) and various piercings so if that isn't something you think "a lady" should have, then I'm not your girl. I still love to go dancing - but have never dated people from the clubs or bars - I go strictly to dance. I'm incredibly eclectic in my music tastes and you never know what you'll hear on my stereo - maybe classical, maybe "retro 80's", maybe Billie Holiday, maybe Tarkan. I really am all over the board with music and appreciate those who are open to hearing things they may not be familiar with. I'm an avid reader and if you even know who Tom Robbins or John Crowley are, you get a gold star.

I'm decidedly "not a typical woman" in many ways, the most distinctive being that I really don't do drama. In a movie or a tv show, sure - but not in my life, thanks. "Back away from the drama" is a mantra of mine. I don't respect people who are looking for a new relationship without already being out of their current one and I absolutely find it appalling when someone who's married is out looking. Playing games is for people who have time for them - I'd rather just get on with seeing the good in life and not putting energy towards other people's self created drama. I know that if you are with someone and think they need to change, then that relationship is doomed - there is no changing people unless they choose to do it themselves...and I do not try to change people - I am
the sort to appreciate the person I'm with rather than hoping that they'll become someone else.

I find beauty in almost everything and have been told I'm optimistic to a fault...so if someone who's always trying to look for the positive in life is a good thing, then I might be someone you're looking to meet. (though admittedly I still can get caught up in the "old punk cynicism" of my younger days - but it's not often and it's not for very long)

As stated before, I'm self employed, but I'm lucky enough to work out of my main client's studio four days a week. This doesn't meant that I only work four days a week - it just means that I only have three days to get everything else done for my other clients ;) Because of this, and because of a travel schedule that can get kind of crazy, it's sometimes hard for me to respond in a timely manner...

I spend a large amount of time during the year attending dog events or judging them (have been involved in purebred dogs for 15 yrs) but I totally get that most "dog people" are really bizarre...I used to be considered a "cat person" - lol.

I'm working hard all the time to be a better person and am always excited about new experiences and meeting new people

My public energy level is pretty high, but I'm much more mellow at home...either that or the fact that I'm really, truly, a silly creature.

Favorite books, movies and music could take way too long to cover...Top of the list would be:

BOOKS - Jitterbug Perfume (Tom Robbins) On Stranger Tides (Tim Powers) The Monster At The End Of This Book (Grover)

MOVIES - Wings Of Desire; The Fisher King; Lawn Dogs; Office Space

MUSIC - most any and all OTHER than modern country or bad house music (I'm still in "retro 80's mode" for the most part, but also love classical, the Blues, and much world music)

Food wise, I'll try anything and love most of the ethnic foods I've tried. My favorite Indian restaurant just closed so I'm going to have to go searching for another in the area...

There isn't such a thing as a "typical" Friday...every one of them tends to be different based on the time of year and what's happening locally as well as what's happening in my schedule (I travel a bit...)

If someone wants to know something private, I answer just about anything but only "in person" (yes that can mean in a chat)

You'd like someone articulate, silly, eclectic, and friendly to do things with. I'm looking for new friends that would be willing to:
go to new restaurants; see some movies; head to the art museum or the zoo; check out concerts; or anything that sounds fun.

I'm really not looking for "hook ups" - life's too short for bad sex with strangers...I do have the hope that maybe, just maybe I'd get a date off one of these sites with someone I just "click" with and that I may end up in a long term relationship with, but I'm not holding out for that...mostly it'd be nice to have someone to do things with besides my best friend or all the friends that are in couples.
