I am trustworthy, affectionate, and astute.

My Self-Summary

I'm an easy-going, laid back, honest-to-god nice guy. I'm also a bit of a hopeless romantic who gives good hugs and back scratches. More concretely, I'm a Georgia Tech graduate who likes to use his brain (go figure!). I do crossword puzzles, read a lot, and play bar trivia. But I'm not the Tech nerd who may immediately pop into your head. I usually bartend at parties. I can discuss pop culture far more than quantum physics to you. I enjoy a good game of football (usually Tech) and even better - a game of hockey. I listen to a wide variety of music and even play some. Bass guitar and cello are my instruments and I'd love to learn something wonky like a banjo.

If anything, I'd like someone to share some of my interests with. Someone to take out to movies and then discuss them in a late nite diner afterward. Or go to a jazz club or see a show. Or maybe sit around and attempt to tackle the Sunday NY Times crossword.

What I’m doing with my life

Does anyone really know the answer to this question?

I've spent the past year really accelerating my career. It's doing well and hopefully continuing to get better. Now, it's time to shape up other parts. Buy a house is a plan. Find someone to spend time with is another.

I’m really good at

using my intuition, figuring stuff out, fixing things, crosswords, bar trivia, back rubs, and hugs. I'd also like to think I can play music and even sing sometimes but your mileage may vary!

The first things people usually notice about me

Big green eyes or so I'm told.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

There's simply too much. I am a pop culture devouring machine and I'm as proud of it as I am mortified. But it wins you tabs at bar trivia!

Books: Currently reading Tana French. I'm fascinated with behavioral economics so I loved reading Stumbling on Happiness, Predictably Irrational, and anything by Malcolm Gladwell. Alastair Reynolds, Joe Hill, Laura Joh Rowland, Eliot Pattison, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child are all favorites.

Movies: My favorite genres are quirky independent movies like Garden State, horror like Suspiria, and foreign movies like Let The Right One In which I just saw. But there's lots more. Gran Torino was excellent like most Clint Eastwood movies are.

Music: I recently discovered post-rock so I've been listening to Sigur Ros and Explosions In The Sky. Prior to that was Brad Mehldau and a whole of piano jazz. Staples for me are Morphine, Tegan and Sara, Foo Fighters, all of Motown, The Cowboy Junkies, Mark Knopfler, The Seatbelts. I'm always discovering new music and genres so it changes alot.

Food: I like to find little known restaurants with killer food. Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, BBQ, whatever. You can judge most Chinese places by their Hot and Sour Soup in my opinion. I love sushi and Pain Is Good hot sauce. If I have a comfort food, it's peanut butter and crackers. Has been since I was a kid. I know, right?

The six things I could never do without

my ipod (how did we live before these things?!)
hot sauce (I could abstain for a while but eventually we all need spice in our lives)
sushi (not satisfying the cravings could possibly kill me)
outside stimuli (because the outside world can be just as wild as the crap in your head)
touch (it's a language I speak and we all need to feel connected)
and cinema (compelling stories all need to be told and seen)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

It's hard to find the balance for this question between the horribly non-true, PC-cliche "global warming" and the Cro-Magnon, suspected true answer of "BOOBS!"

I would have to say a lot of self-evaluation. What parts of my life are doing good and which are not. How do I improve the under-performing sections and am I capable of carrying out such a complicated plan, brain? What the hell?

I've told people before that on a solo road trip my brain can solve just about every problem in the universe. I just forget it all the second I open the car door. Because that's when I thought of boobs.

You should message me if

If you ever thought you needed a movie partner. For the "Man, I want to see this but I don't know anyone I can talk into going!" moments.

If you've always wanted to know where some of the good non-chain, best kept secret restaurants are around town. Or heck, you want to show off yours!

If you want a cool new friend who tells a great story, listens to all yours, and hopefully is great to have around.
