I love asking questions and figuring out how things work. That
curiosity has led to more degrees than any one person should
probably have (I'm a veterinarian with a PhD in microbiology), but
now I get to play the "why?" game and get paid for it. That being
said, I've had more than one person tell me I don't act like a
doctor. I take that as a compliment.
I know my way around a kitchen, and prefer cooking to baking
because it's freer and more improvisational. I also make beer,
which probably doesn't count as cooking, but it's fun and tasty, so
I'll mention it here.
I love baseball, I was a catcher, then a coach, and I've always
been an A's fan.
I'm INTJ. I don't know why so many people have that posted here,
but I like that I'm the Mastermind. It makes me feel like I should
have a secret lair in a volcano.

I study viruses and how to stop them in their tracks. I love my
job, and the plan is to go on to a faculty position somewhere. But
that's a couple years away still, probably.

Food: Nearly anything, I'm an adventurous eater, and I go through
phases of foods I like, rather than having specific favorites.
