My self-summary
Hello, my name is George, and welcome to my cozy, personal area on Okcupid. Thank you if you're taking time out of your busy day to check out my profile page. And please feel free to snoop around--stalking my photos is warranted. I will do my best to update them periodically.

The difficult task in writing these profile summaries is, what can I tell you that all the other 'smooth-talking' guys haven't told you already? What can you really believe from guys here on these dating sites, except that they want to get into your pants? But I generally buy my pants at Walmart or Meijer, and unless your's fit me really good, I'm not interested in getting into them.

So, onto the self-summary... As I stated, my name is George. I'm 37 at the time I'm writing (or re-writing) this summary. I'm a single dad of two girls who are both 7 and growing up quick. I enjoy being a dad to my girls and I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world. Nothing comes before that. I don't drink alcohol or smoke: I've never been drunk, high, trashed, smashed, wasted, or shit-faced.

I would say, in general, I'm a pretty laid back kind of guy. I have an easy-going personality most of the time. And I'm not easily excitable (I can be pretty quiet unless I have something I think is important or relevant to say). While I don't get too over-emotional, I do feel deep and think deep concerning the things that come up in my experience. I value quality over quantity... that is, we generally say 'it's the thought that counts'. But it's not the thought that counts, so much as, the thought you put into something that counts. In other words, there's a big difference in being thoughtful and thoughtless. I prefer to be thought-full. And so I spend a considerable amount of time thinking about things before I act; although I can be quite spontaneous at times. I find that I have quite a sense of humor, once I feel comfortable opening up. My humor ranges from dry to silly to dark. Being an Aquarius I tend to jump from topic to topic and then back again, all in one breath.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently employed with FedEx Express. I've been there, altogether, 16 years. I quit for a couple of years when my job was displaced. But outside of working and being a dad, I have several passions I'm pursuing; and I hope to make a life doing them full-time. These passions tend to interconnect with everything else I'm doing--working and parenting and so on. They include God, theology, Christianity, philosophy and theory; art; writing; and geek culture.
I’m really good at
I come equipped with multi-points of articulation. As well as a highly adaptive, vivid, and lucid, creative imagination. I tend to manifest my imagination in several ways, including but not limited to my sense of humor, drawing, writing, and just the general way I approach life.
The first things people usually notice about me
If I'm not wearing a hat it's usually the birthmark I have on my forehead. If I'm wearing a hat, however, then they probably notice... I don't really know. Perhaps how quiet I can be.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Too many to list. I generally gravitate towards books, movies, shows, music and food that moves me in a spiritually significant way. Whether it's religious or secular or geeky.
The six things I could never do without
God
My girls
Sense of humor

Healthy amount of alone time
basic needs
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life. God. Geek things.
On a typical Friday night I am
If my girls are home on the weekend then my time is spent with them. If my girls are gone for the weekend then my time is spent alone, working on writing, art, or studying something. Alone time is enormously important to me.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–42
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends
You should message me if
Even as a guy I'm of a more progressive mind. If you think or feel you need a man in order to feel validated or completed; or if you want to be spoiled like a princess; if you need constant and continual excitement, entertainment, instant gratification; if you have kids and put your men first; or if you have a bad relationship with your family, or your family is unstable; AND, if you have not discovered your inner geek/nerd/dork... then I'm not going to be the guy for you.

Also, if you're a more conservative Christian, a literalist Christian, and you believe literally that the Bible is God's infallible Word; and you believe Jesus is exclusively God incarnated in the flesh--he died and was risen for our sins: then I'm not going to be the Christian guy for you.

If you're a biget, homophobe, mean spirited, or just an idiot: I'm not going to be the kind of guy for you. If you hate kids and kid related things, then I'm not going to be the guy for you.

For everyone else, feel free to message me. If you just want to talk or vent or you need advice; or you want to talk about the latest geek thing, I'm all ears.
