I am confident, enigmatic, and spontaneous.

My Self-Summary

I quote random books and movie lines thinking that other people will know what I'm talking about....they usually don't.
I ride my bike and wipe out, but I never get hurt. I hit a rock once, crashed into my handlebars and bent them. With my hip, leaving a bit of a bruise, but nothing else. The guys at the bike shop didn't believe me. "Handle bars don't bend like that". Apparently they do.
I'm banned from answering the questions on Jeopardy while in my parents home. My mum believes that I read too fast. I've also been banned from playing trivial pursuit with my relatives and most of my friends.
I like to hang out with friends, hike, bike, read, and play board games.
I'm an encyclopedia of useless knowledge.
I love to go on road trips. Driving around on back roads exploring is amazing and leads to new places to ride my bike.
I mercilessly throw myself into life for the sake of experience. I rarely fear anything, except not doing something. Because, for me regret is the nagging voice in my head that says "what if"? What if I didn't do? Something. Anything. What hides around the next corner. I'm foolishly trusting and passionate about things I have no business being trusting or passionate about. I believe. I doubt my decisions only when they affect others. I never look back. Always go forward and don't dwell on the past. This is how I will live with myself when I'm old and in diapers. I'll earn my rocking chair and appreciate the memories.
Now in French
Je parle un petit peu de francais. J'ai etudie francais pour trois ans, depuis seize ans.

What I’m doing with my life

Trying to find a professional outlet for my degree. I'm tired of drunk people telling me about their divorces, it's getting old. I just reply with "should have just gotten a mistress, huh? Less expensive in the long run".
Planning to xcountry ski the catamount trail this winter/early spring.
Might run a 5k this november.
Looking forward to Bar Exam torture in February.
Probably taking the Foreign Service Officer exam sometime in 2010 as well.

I’m really good at

Jeopardy. Speed Reading. Trivial Pursuit. Recovering from embarrassing moments.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I wonder if I need to be looking for something to be on here. Am I trying to fill a void, or complement what I have. Hmm. I will say that if I do meet someone, she will have to think for herself and have a brain. I'm not really interested in a traditional relationship and I don't believe in gender roles. I wonder if we, as a society, could ever be post-gender? That's what I'm thinking about as I fill out this ridiculous profile.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't really know anything about professional sports teams. I honestly don't care about the game that's on tv tonight. However, I will play most team sports, and I usually can do so without embarrassing myself. I think that watching sports is torture, except for soccer. I hate sitting and watching, I would rather be playing.
I just watched the first and second seasons of the old G.I. Joe cartoon, I loved it and will definitely watch the rest.

You should message me if

You have something interesting to say or do.
I don't have a type, but some things that catch my eye are:
tattoos
piercings
athleticism
bad-ass women (not necessarily intended to mean having the ability to kick my ass)
a sense of humor
being secure (I don't want to spend all my time making you feel good about yourself, if I'm with you, then I probably think you're rad)
intelligence
eccentric tendencies
independence
