I am geeky, goofy, and sincere.

My Self-Summary

I am a gamer geek and a history nerd that also loves certain sports and the outdoors. Pleasantly goofy, reliable, honest, intelligent, cautiously curious, and randomly creative. I've never been a cheater or a bad boy. Most people would probably consider me terminally unhip my entire life but I'm fine with that because I'm not like most people. I make corny jokes and use referential humor. I'm not a big partier or drinker. I've been to Magic The Gathering tournaments, anime conventions, Megacon, and a renaissance fair. I dress casually whenever possible. Sorted into Ravenclaw, Chaotic Good aligned, and mostly an INFJ personality. I voted for Obama.

Some things I really enjoy: gaming, football (Miami Dolphins), soccer, kayaking, watching movies, reading books, history, UFC, minigolf, traveling, geocaching, camping, sci-fi, fantasy, and going for a walk in the woods.

I think the personality awards OKC has given me in the Personality section are actually pretty accurate.

What I’m doing with my life

I have an apartment by myself and work a full-time job that includes the perk of being able to wear a t-shirt and jeans to work. I don't have a career yet.

I'm taking a history course in the spring at FAU to test the waters and see if I want to back for a history degree. I admit I don't know know what I'd do with a history degree (I know I don't want to become a teacher) but at this point I feel inclined to go the "do what you love and try to find a way to make money at it".

I've started geocaching.

I’m really good at

I knowing a large amount of trivia and random odd facts. Someone once told me I "have alot of unusual information inside my head".

I'm good at navigating; I pretty much never get lost.

I'm good at planning ahead. I improvise and do things on a whim sometimes. But if I'm say going on a trip I'm pretty good about being organized and prepared for it.

The first things people usually notice about me

I would guess it's sometimes my height but more often my shirt; I usually wear either a Hawaiian shirt or a t-shirt promoting something that interests me.

Probably also my mustache, as almost nobody my age seems to have one.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: non-fiction, mostly history, especially military history. Other stuff I've particularly enjoyed includes Chuck Klosterman, Tim Dorsey, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Harry Potter.

Movies: Lord of the Rings trilogy extended edition, The Matrix, Tomb Raider, The Mummy & The Mummy Returns, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, Serenity, Underworld, Shoot Em Up, V for Vendetta, The Princess Bride, Iron Man.

TV: House, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Simpsons, Family Guy, Firefly, Mythbusters, Robot Chicken, The History Channel, football. I don't watch much TV.

Music: Mostly rock, metal (only the coherent, non-screaming kind!) and techno/trance. Some of my favorite bands: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Anberlin, Blue Oyster Cult, Blind Guardian, Linkin Park, U2, Flogging Molly.

Food: I love various forms of chicken and most Italian food with red sauce, especially pizza. I don't eat alot of foreign food.

Webcomics: xkcd, CTRL+ALT+DEL, Penny Arcade, Indexed, Unshelved, Dr. McNinja.

The six things I could never do without

books: to feed my curiosity & kill time waiting or eating alone
music: because life needs a soundtrack
gaming: Ludo Ergo Sum (I Game Therefore I Am)
puzzles: I feel the need to solve them.
outdoors: because a walk in the woods or paddling down a nice stream brings me closer to zen.
pizza: because it's just so tasty!

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Trying to set goals and understand life. I'm introspective. I also have lots of random mental tangents. Random things trigger my curiosity. My brain is so active it sometimes makes it difficult for me to fall asleep. I keep a notepad with me most times to jot down random things of interest for later.

On a typical Friday night I am

Friday nights I am usually either watching movies, gaming with friends, or going to Friday Night Magic.

Saturday nights there's also the possibility of going to a sports bar with friends to catch a UFC PPV.

If all else fails I'll just sit at home on my computer; I can live with not every Friday night being exciting, especially if I'm worn out from the week.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have never wanted to have children and I believe that will never change.

You should message me if

I would love to hear from a girl who is geeky, confident without being cocky, and shares some of my interests and can respect the rest. A girl that's a bit tomboyish and doesn't feel the need to dress up alot or use alot of makeup.

Glasses and long hair are a bonus.

Smoking, drug use, and having kids are dealbreakers. I also don't care for most tattoos or piercings (tongue & lip piercings in particular are a major turnoff).
