My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm bi, polyamorous and all that fun stuff. I'm not looking to do the HBB thing though, I don't date couples (I guess if I ever find myself separately dating two people who're also involved we should probably talk, but hey) and I'm not looking for threesomes. I'm not particularly looking for another boyfriend at the moment either. Plus I don't cyber, not that adding this is likely to put off the usual pests.

I'm also a complete geek; mostly computer science, though a bit of gaming, maths, what I know/remember of other sciences and so forth are all good. I don't read as much as I'd like to - academic stuff aside most of what I do's sci-fi. Not sure "fan" is quite how I feel about Terry Pratchett, but I've been involved in Pratchett fandom too long to really argue.

I seem to go for the tactile over the visual. I've been described as "charming with a side order of lascivious", and accused of flirting that was so blatant as to become subtle again.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm not doing a lot that's obvious in terms of an actual career. I spend a fair amount of time looking after my housemate, do some research, stuff like that. But I don't really have as much energy as I'd like, and much of what I do have needs to go on retaining some independance. Keeping up a social life is an important part of that, which means my self-esteem gets to consider having fun as critical work as well :-)

I'm seriously considering starting over doing a Bachelor's in computer science however, and building from there. An ex's suggested I apply to MIT, but that looks a bit expensive from here, I should probably settle for somewhere like Cambridge. In the meantime I guess I keep up my existing involvement in the field.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Coding. Not bad at gaming either.

Oh, and missing people's IM messages. Though when it's someone asking if they can cum on my face I'm not exactly upset by this. Demonstrating things like why a 24 hour sleep cycle's a useful thing, and why you don't show up for martial arts training having eaten less than half the calorie intake you're supposed to that day.

Apparently I'm a good listener if you manage to get hold of me. And there's a semi-mandatory list for these sections that in my case includes hugging, scritching, scratching and at least some massage.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

My height.

I'm told I look cuter in person. I think I've also surprised one or two people I met up with from online by being rather cuddlier in person!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books:

The Discworld series, most stuff by Iain M Banks (and I've enjoyed most of what I've read without the M), His Dark Materials, most of what I've read by Greg Egan.

Music:

Mostly house and old skool hardcore, though I'll listen to most dance music - despite listing house first, I'm a sucker for a good break. I don't necessarily dislike other genres, but I've never put in the time getting to know what I like.

Food:

Pizza, pasta, burgers, curry, chocolate. I'm a sucker for a good barbecue sauce. Can be talked into other stuff so long as I'm coping okay at the time though, so stretching and expanding my culinary horizons makes a good excuse for a date.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

People I like.

Better ways to write software, writing better software, getting better software to write itself, better languages to write better software in.

Dealing with disability and the consequences thereof - both mine and other people's.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Probably doing much the same as any other night - weekends don't really stick out for me so much except insofar as they do for other people, I guess.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

Not particularly private, but my screen name isn't "GeeksWitch". It could be said that I turn on geeks, but that's not quite the intention either.

For those playing stereotype bingo, I'm not pagan and I don't knit.

You should message me if Propose an edit

You feel like it

You don't mind using an IM system other than this site's one pretty quickly - otherwise I'm prone to missing things when I'm doing other stuff on the computer which kinda kills the conversation

You're a decent subset of queer, kinky, geeky and poly (pagan is entirely optional, however) and figure there're good odds we'll have fun one way or another!
