My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been described as passionate, sensitive, caring, and entertaining, as well as a bunch of other positive adjectives, too.

I have the type of sense of humor that finds Family Guy, Futurama, Aqua Teen You Know Whatever (nee Aqua Teen Hunger Force), Archer, Tosh.0, and South Park hilarious. Oh, and Jackass. It's not lowbrow! Its genius is in its simplicity!

I often quote Eddie Izzard, George Carlin, and Denis Leary.

I love Internet memes.

I love all things Microsoft - PCs, Surface, Windows Phone, and especially Xbox. More on this later in my profile.

I like following politics, but it doesn't dominate my interactions. I tend to watch MSNBC over Fox News (unless I need a good laugh), and I look forward to my daily dose of Jon Stewart and weekly dose of Bill Maher. Although, to be fair, sometimes Bill goes a bit off the deep end.

If you were to describe me in terms of D&D alignment, I am Neutral Good, who wishes he were more Chaotic Good.

I do not generally pose for dating website profile photos shirtless in a mirror, I type in complete sentences, and I use grammar and spelling appropriately. So already I should be ahead of the curve, right? :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work for Microsoft being a badass code ninja. They send me around the country training software developers and presenting seminars and such. I love my job so much.

See? Now you know why I love all things Microsoft! It's an awesome company!

Yep, I'm a geek, and proud of it.

I promise, though, not to begrudge you your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. ;)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Nerd stuff.

I've been accused of being mildly handy around the house.

I was going to stop procrastinating, but I keep putting it off.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My hair. It's thick and wavy. Apparently it's pretty noticeable.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

- Movies -

I tend to list favorite directors, which include: Joss Whedon, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Chan Wook Park, Robert Rodriguez, Kevin Smith, David Lynch, David Fincher, Guillermo Del Toro, Peter Jackson, Guy Ritchie, Danny Boyle, the Coen brothers, and Neill Blomkamp. I'm probably forgetting many, many more.

Also, some cult favorite movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Office Space, Idiocracy, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Shaun of the Dead, The Princess Bride, all the Star Trek movies (well... 3, 5, 9, and 10 were weak, but tolerable... loved the reboot), all the Star Wars movies (I may or may not kinda sorta like the prequels, too, at least 2 and 3). And Serenity, as I am a Browncoat. I am holding out hope that the success of The Avengers will somehow lead to Joss Whedon doing a Serenity 2.

- Shows -

Currently on my DVR: Spartacus, Girls, New Girl, The Office, Fringe, The Daily Show, Jeopardy, Archer, Justified, True Blood, Dexter, Family Guy, American Dad, The Walking Dead, Tosh.0, Breaking Bad.

Older shows: Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, all Star Trek shows, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Weeds, Hung, and Lost, just to name a few.

- Books -

I love to read when I can eke out some quiet solitude. At one time, I subsisted on a steady diet of Star Wars, Forgotten Realms, and Lord of the Rings, but my tastes are actually pretty varied, from sci-fi/fantasy to Chuck Palahniuk.

Some books I've read in the past year or two that I loved:

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Several different Halo books
Dragon Age: Asunder
World War Z
The Hunger Games (trilogy)
The Last Wish (on which the PC RPG "The Witcher" is based).
Lullaby
Snuff

In non-fiction, I like stuff like Freakonomics and the occasional history or politics book. For example, I just finished reading a great book about the Knights Templar in the crusades.

At a close friend's suggestion (nay, insistence), I finally read the Harry Potter series, and I've got to admit it, I'm hooked.

I <3 my Kindle so, so much.

- Music -

Totally eclectic, but with a heavy slant toward rock and alternative. I used to be a jazz musician, so that has a pretty heavy impact on my music library, too.

I always tend to have Cake and Weezer on my phone, as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, Kid Rock, Johnny Cash, Linkin Park, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Green Day, and The Offspring.

I'm a huge fan of Jonathan Coultan, Voltaire (the musician, not the philosopher, although I like the philosopher too), and Paul and Storm.

- Food -

I am a fiend for Chinese. Bo Lings is my weakness. Chicken cordon bleu is another favorite. I could, if asked, subsist entirely on a diet of steak; Favorite cuts are prime rib and ribeye. For dessert, I love cheesecake.

- Games -

Halo - OMG, I love me some Halo. Ever since George Lucas ruined Star Wars and Rick Berman and Brannon Braga beat Star Trek like a dead horse, it's become my favorite sci-fi franchise. There's a rich backstory with an amazing universe detailed in the games, books, and graphic novels. It's also owned by Microsoft. =D

Anything Bioware. Anything Bethesda. Most things Gearbox. Gears of War. Splinter Cell. Fable.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1: Teh intarwebs. It provides my living, my communication, my knowledge, and my entertainment. How did I ever exist without it?

2: Microsoft. Seriously. I have the best job in the best company in the world.

3: Insert the cliché "my kids" response here. They're awesome.

4: Companionship. Preferably female. They're soft and smell nice. Usually.

5: My Kindle.

6: Netflix.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why all my favorite TV shows get cancelled before their time. I mean, really, WTF is up with that?

Firefly
Deadwood
Carnivale
John from Cincinnati
Rome
Hung
FlashForward
Pushing Up Daisies
Journeyman
Family Guy (twice, but thankfully it keeps coming back)
Futurama (on its first run, but Comedy Central brought it back)
The 4400
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
Caprica
V
Frisky Dingo
Arrested Development
Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Interestingly, Fox and HBO seem to be the networks most likely to kill something I like. Jerks.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
You know that scene in Silence of the Lambs where Buffalo Bill is putting on his makeup and listening to Goodbye Horses and then he dances in front of his camcorder in drag?

Not that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I collect Halo action figures. Yes, commence the "40 Year Old Virgin" jokes. =P
