My self-summary
Most of social circle are involved in relationships, and aren't really keen on plucking the gowans fine, so I would like to meet some jolly people to get into a little bit of trouble with. I enjoy live music, interesting food (loving the night market *edit* I meant off the grid; and other things like that), independant theater, gaming with friends, night-time hikes, and bicycling.

I'm pretty adventerous, although rather busy, I tend to overcommit to things I am passionate about. I'd love to meet people who share my interests and can introduce me to new things, want to pursue adventures, and can make themselves laugh (anyone can make me laugh!)
What I’m doing with my life
I am a research scientist, and a father. I have two little boys, whom I spend as much time with as I am able, which sadly isn't always enough. I'm happy to date other single parents or women without kids, but please understand that sometimes life's complications can come up.

I've recently been working on the initial stages of a start up (like everyone else in the bay area) so I've been pretty busy. I apologize if it takes me a while to respond. And so it goes.
I’m really good at
I'm imaginitive and a little silly, while still being dependable. I have a knack for discovering hidden things, and new experiences.
The first things people usually notice about me
The red blush of my cheeks and my big dark eyes. Oh, and height I suppose.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Gosh, I read so many books. I like P.G. Woodhouse, J.R.R.. Tolkien, Jim Butcher, Spider Robinson, John MacDonald, Kurt Vonnegut, Terry Pratchett, Mark Twain, George R.R. Martin... probably a million more.
TV:
Archer, Arrested Development, Dr. Who, Black Books, Firefly, Peep Show, League of Gentlemen, A Bit of Fry and Laurie. Netflix will guide me.
Movies: The Big Lebowski, Pixar movies, Strange Brew, Mallrats, Serenity, The Princess Bride, Super Troopers. I like to laugh.
Music: I love showtunes, operettas by Gilbert and Sullivan, They Might Be Giants, Harry Belafonte, Patsy Kline, The Beatles, The Arcade Fire, Scissors for Lefty, The Ramones, Daft Punk. I love music in which I feel the artist is trying to show me his/her emotion.
The six things I could never do without
Books, a toothbrush, coffee, a set of polyhedral dice, laughter and probably fire. At least if I were stuck on a desert island with my friends, that is what I would want. (Laughter equals a friend with me.)
I'm seriously thinking of putting baby wipes on this list.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The perfect donut. I think that something like a glazed raised except slightly denser and more glutenous, with a butter-honey (starthistle by preference) would be ideal.

Update: I've found a good candidate for the best donut in the Bay Area... Ask me about it!
On a typical Friday night I am
Visiting friends and playing games, maybe going out to a bar, then a middle of the night hike in San Francisco.
Although to be honest, a good amount of the time, I'll be staying home with my boys and having a blast with them.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a really hard time swearing, and when others do I will often blush.
Also, I grew up in San Diego, in the 80s, thus I really liked Top Gun.
