My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I edit text by day, rehearse plays by night, work out by lunch, and hang out with extended family when I can. I'm also working on the enlightenment thing.

I exited a six-year relationship two years ago, and between that and turning 40, I have had a really amazing, intense, and somewhat purifying transition period. I'm still in it, but nearer to the end, and life has gotten to be a lot sweeter as a result.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm playing a little catch up with the $$$, staying present to presence, making all my deadlines at work, and throwing my weight around on stage.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Acting, directing, sound effects design, editing, and meditating, which all sounds really redundant given the above, but the truth is I've got good flow, and I'm doing what I'm good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile, eyes, and laugh. Sometimes women like to paw at my arms.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books I like: I'm currently rereading I Am That, and I'd also put some pilgrim lit at the top-- Peace Pilgrim and this obscure title called Principles and Precepts of the Return to the Obvious. Past books/authors include most Chuck Palahniuk, James Agee, Infinite Jest, The Gulag Archipelago, Shantaram, Skid Road, Indiana Winter, Michael Pollan, The Art of Fermentation, and Walking on Water.

I don't watch many films these days, but I liked: Anchorman, Anvil!, Biutiful, Blood Diamond, Brokeback Mountain, Burnt by the Sun, Casablanca, Cast Away, The Darjeeling Limited, Doubt, Enemy at the Gates, Fargo, The Fighter, A Fish Called Wanda, Four Weddings and a Funeral, From Dusk Till Dawn, Frozen River, I Am Love, Koyaanisquatsi, Life is Beautiful, Lost in Translation, The Lover, Master and Commander, Match Point, Miracle, Moon, My Architect, Once, Raging Bull, Rain (2001, New Zealand), Redbelt, Riding Giants and The Endless Summer 2, Sherman's March, The Shining, Snow Cake, Swimming Pool, Walk the Line, and Winter's Bone.

Plays: I'm directing Circle Mirror Transformation this spring, and I'm stoked for that. I also really liked God of Carnage.

I don't listen to much music unless I'm choosing music for a play, but past favorites include Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo, Air Supply, Band of Horses, Carole King, The Cars, Connie Francis, The Cure, The Darkness, Dwight Yoakam, Elvis Presley, Everclear, Ledward Kaapana, Lenny Kravitz, Melody Gardot, Tindersticks, Muddy Waters, Pete Yorn, Phoenix, Radiohead, Rebirth Brass Band, Tom Petty, old Sun Records recordings, Gregorian chant and a bucket of singles put out by SXSW.

When I'm eating well, I eat really simple. When shit gets off the rails, I eat like crap. Otherwise, I like just about everything that is quality.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I can go six months without breathing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I don't spend a lot of time thinking about anything, which is what a decent meditation practice will get you. When you start asking who is the one doing the thinking, stuff starts disappearing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
at home or performing in a play.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
See my A's to the Q's.
