My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I enjoy collecting stories and perspectives. If life was a cross-continental train ride, I'd travel at a leisurely rate, and go on detours and tangents. I think some of the unhappiest people I know are those who simply gun for their goals and do not stop and smell the roses. Beauty and fulfillment are in those tender details that lurk in the crannies of memory.

If you are intellectually curious and have an open mind and heart, I will always be there to listen and support you. I have been told by my friends that I know what to say when shit goes down because I offer constructive advice, honesty, and non-judgmental sympathy.

So if we become friends, know you'll have a steady friend who will help you figure out a game plan for your problems and who will happily toast your successes and lessons!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an attorney, which means that I have to develop good judgment, so as to give people proper advice. Attorneys are not simply litigious assholes (but we do drink a lot). Currently, I clerk at the Supreme Court of New Mexico. I will return to a firm in Century City by September 2015. For those who care, I anticipate most of my work will involve patent litigation.

With that being said, just because I give good advice doesn't mean I always make smart decisions. I think I have been referred to before as a smart person who is really dumb. This may be because that person has traveled with me and has put up with my spontaneous decisions. Next place to rage through: the Balkans in September (I did Colombia earlier this summer).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
tolerating the bizarre (I have experienced enough oddities to not be phased) and thinking of the big picture and how systems, both physical and metaphysical, work.
The first things people usually notice about me

my hair (for now, because it's long).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I wouldn't say I have favorite books. I tend to read them and never touch them again, but here are some I really enjoyed recently--
The Coming Anarchy, Vodka Politics, Blood and Thunder, Vanished Kingdoms, A Song of Ice and Fire. Most of these books are non-fiction.

Movies: Lawrence of Arabia; Guardians of the Galaxy; Batman (the Christian Bale ones). There are others I like, but sorry, I'm really not a movie person (too much of an investment of time if they suck)

Shows: Game of Thrones; Hawaii Five-O (I'm slightly embarrassed); Dexter; Bones; Rome.

Music: a little bit of everything--ethereal pop, jazz, soul, rap, rock, etc.; Mr. Little Jeans, Alice Russell, UGK, Nada Surf, etc.
The six things I could never do without

You have imaginative sympathy, enjoy guinness, and want to build a real connection. Solitudes are common, their synchronies, rare.
