Thanks for visiting – I thought I’d give this site a shot seeing as how my life here in Houston has been pretty busy/crazy with my teaching and now my grad work, and it’d be great to meet more people outside the same crowd.
Ok, well, a bit of background first off. I'm 34, like it says up there, and I've been a nomad most of my life - lived all over the world when I was growing up (Australia, Kenya, just to name a few), then did my undergrad in Canada, and lived in London for a while working on another degree. I think I still consider London the best place I've ever lived - I loved the arts there (museums, theater, everything), the diversity, and that there was always something going on. Houston was a bit of an adjustment after that, but now that I've gotten to know the scene better, I'm out in the city whenever I can to take advantage of everything it has to offer. One of my friends calls me the human Houston Press =), and I do love to keep track of everything that's happening, even if I can't always make it!
Right now I’m earning another masters and I truly love what I’m doing. Outside of that part of my life I like to keep myself as active (as I said before!) and healthy as I can – I spend a lot of time biking around Houston, doing yoga, and ballroom dancing. I also like to read and talk philosophy. I’ve gotten into experimenting in the kitchen too – most recently South Indian dishes, after getting inspired by Gordon Ramsey’s cooking show. I’ve been told they turned out great, although the sources probably weren’t the most objective!
If you think we might have any of these things in common, feel free to get in touch. Open to friends and maybe more.
