I like book that provide me with some philosophical insight, "East of Eden" is an example. I also quite enjoy fantasies with Lord of the Rings as a notable example.
I don't have a particular type of movies that I like, it really depends on my mood. In general I can enjoy almost everything that isn't too stupid :)
TV series that I watch - South Park, How I met your mother, House, Burn Notice, Person of Interest, Game of thrones, etc...
