What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working with local, (some small) businesses hand-painting signs. I guess I just came to the realization that I'm a small business owner, but more so that I'm self employed.

Life's pretty hectic, but fun. I work a lot and am trying to focus more these days on participating in the art community because if I don't and people don't then it won't exist anymore. With that said, I don't consider myself an artist exactly, but I do believe in contributing in any way I can. In a city focused on online communities I think it's important to be in real ones.

With that said, if you want to or know of a good art show/event/poetry reading/happening just holler at me. Maybe I'll know about it too, or maybe you'll open my eyes to something new. That's the nice part about life.

blues eyes, red hair

Side note: facial hair changes depending on how lazy I'm feeling at the moment and if I goof shaving... Beard right now, but like everything in life it's not permanent.

Books: Brautigan, Whitman, Orwell, Bukowski, Pablo Neruda, Jack Black (the author), Napolean Hill.

Food: All food imaginable. I like to cook, I do it almost everyday.

Movies: Godard, Truffaut, Fellini, Scorsese etc.
Lots of French New Wave, Documentaries, Classic Americana, Films about bank robbers, gangsters and drifters.

Music: I have a really really bad crush on the Shangri-Las. Throw in there The Shirelles, The Shondells, The Crystals, The Ronettes & The Chiffons, A lot of old Soul and Doo Wop including Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Wendy Rene, Smokey Robinson, Nina Simone (big crush on her too) etc

Older Pre-War blues like Skip James, Mississippi John Hurt, Furry Lewis, Son House, Leadbelly, Victoria Spivey...

Indie stuff from now including Beach House, Sun Kil Moon, Vivian Girls, Black Keys, Yo La Tengo...

Merica's favorites Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, John Fahey, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, Jackson C. Frank, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, The Carter Family

THe list goes on... The Seeds, The Misfits, The Refused, Black Sabbath, Neil Young and the Velvet Underground...

Cant stop listening to Fleetwood Mac as of late.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Parks & Architecture lately. I really like all these off the beaten path parks in SF and need to explore them more. My favorite is finding the off the map trails in them because there are a lot. When I say park I'm not talking about Dolores either (although it has it's moments). Big fan of Victorians too.

Work stuff is always swirling around in my brain. I get paid for a craft at which I have to be on my best always so I see a lot of things that normal folk don't.

Regionalisms. I'm a midwest refugee and have a lot of those aspects of my life ingrained in me.

You have a place to show me. Park, bar, pier or otherwise.

You have something you'd like to go to, but don't want to go there alone. I end up doing this a lot because, well, it's hard to rally friends some times. Whether it be art show, music, movie, happening, reading, something interesting - who cares really! Chances are I don't know about it and you do, so why don't you help the both of us out and just say hello. Even if it's not in the stars for us, it's always nice to make friends and meet people who aren't terrible.
