BOOKS
I am a voracious reader. I recently read The Lost Hero, part of a
fantasy/sci fi series, and Category 7- the book was awesome, even
though the movie was a joke scientifically. I also love historical
fiction, and fictionalized accounts of natural disasters. I'm
currently working my way through Chicken Soup for the Soul:
Positive Thinking, which is having an amazing impact on my
life.
My little guy and I are in the midst of the first Harry Potter
book, and love the Super Fudge, Bailey Kids, and Magic Tree House
series. This amazing child also has me read to him from the Torah,
and explain in kid English what it all means. We also regularly
read from my grown up level astronomy and social studies texts and
reference guides. And he sucks it all in like an unending sponge.
Like me, my little guy would be happy if we snuggled and read books
together all day.
MOVIES
Ever After is one of my all time favorites. Drew Barrymore as
Cinderella, presented as historical fiction, as the story seriously
may have happened if it was real.
I love sci fi (NOT horror). Again, fictionalized natural disasters,
like Day After Tomorrow and Dante's Peak, too. I haven't actually
been out to the movies in awhile, though I'd love to go! I'm also
quite content sitting home and snuggling in front of a DVD.
SHOWS
There are a few I like to follow, but my life does not revolve
around them: Revolution, Touched, Once Upon a Time, Private
Practice, Parenthood, and Grey's Anatomy are about it.
MUSIC
I love folksy music, musicals, Jewish liturgical music, soft rock,
anything written so I can sing my heart out or at least sing
along.
FOOD
Vegetarian all the way. If you're not, I can live with that, I just
can't stand the smell of it cooking, can't cook it myself, can't
purchase it, and don't want anyone making fun of my ethical
beliefs. Or anything else for that matter. And I'll never be cruel
to you about yours.
I love Chinese, Japanese, Ethiopian, Mexican, Jewish, American,
Amish, all very mild dishes- no onions, peppers, pepper, or strong
spices for me (allergies). I LOVE Italian, though my body doesn't,
so I try to eat it sparingly. Mac & Cheese with veggie chik
nuggets or black beans and a green veggie steamed well and mixed
all together is my current favorite dish. I prefer whole grain and
organic everything, though I do treat myself to very thick and
cheesy pizza or the above-mentioned restaurant foods.
As long as it's vegetarian and mild I'm up for trying anything.
