It always upsets me when I have to define myself as "White". At the Swing dance tonight I was dancing with one of the locals and he figured out that I was Jewish.

Him: "What? I thought you were Mexican."

Me: "No, I'm Jewish"

Him: "But you're from Israel, so you're like Jewish Jewish, real Jewish not...

Me: "Yes, I'm real Jewish."

Him:"OK, so you';re not White"

Me: "Thank you!"

Him: "So you agree that White isn't a good thing, good. I knew you couldn't be white. You have way too much soul to be White.

So even though I legally have to define myself as White, trust me, I'm not!

I went on another trail ride this weekend. This was my third time riding Melody, and I decided to really "ride" her this time instead of just letting her follow the other horse. I was able to collect her a bit and she become much more lively and responsive after I showed her what I can do.

We rode in the bosque near the Rio Grande. It was beautiful.

I am reaching the point where I have to make a decision.

I've been flirting with two guys I dance with (OK, I flirt with most of the guys I dance with but with these two it seems to be going somewhere).

A is very down to earth, intense, deep and brooding (like me), lots of passion beneath that very calm exterior (like me), smart and educated. He's an OK dancer but kind of limits himself to two dances and doesn't seem to be open to learning anything else. I don't know how old he is but I'd say late thirties to early forties. He started to show a real interest in me after a little interaction we had about Quantum Mechanics, photons and Buckyballs.

B is thirty seven, studying nursing which means he is compassionate and caring, very outgoing and friendly, told me he likes older women, has been dancing for about six months and has progressed at an amazing pace, has the energy to keep up with me, and we always have a great time dancing together.

Decisions....decisions.... and this one is pretty important.

I can't make up my mind.

I found out when I was in class in Wednesday that there were more books I needed. One of them is going to be discussed this coming Wednesday so I rush ordered it from Amazon. The status says delivered at door but it isn't here. I called Amazon and they are sending me a replacement but I won't get it until Monday. I can read a book in two days but not if I have to work.

I need to calm down and figure this out.

I never liked pears.

When I was at Trader Joe's on Monday I bought a pear. It looked good to me.

I haven't eaten it yet. I looked at it today and wondered why I had bought it.

Why don't I like pears, and why did I buy one?

I had a great Friday the 13th.

There's a dance at the Unitarian Church tomorrow from 7:30-9:30 PM.

I plan to be there.

This will be my last class. I still need to do my professional project but I don't have to do that at the university.

My educational leave was approved. I wasn't sure it would be. The governor has been denying everything lately. I think that the combination of the fact that this is my last class combined with the relevance to my position helped me get it.

Tomorrow is Friday the 13th. Have a lucky day, I know I will.
