My self-summary
Professional Musician. Educator. Atheist. Skeptic. Humanist. Other awesome things.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a full-time career as a performing musician (piano/organ/keyboard). I play over 150 shows a year with a few bands and as a freelance artist. My original funk band is called Serotonic...feel free to check us out!

I’m really good at
playing music, teaching, writing, editing, networking, making people laugh, and doing impressions of Old Gregg
The first things people usually notice about me
I guess that would depend on the person who's doing the noticing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm not much of a reader, to be honest. When I do sit down with a book, it's usually non-fiction. I like reading about science, religion and philosophy.

Movies: documentaries, comedy, horror

Shows: The Office, Big Bang Theory, House of Cards, Impractical Jokers, SVU, The Blacklist, OITNB, Always Sunny, Sopranos. I don't watch a lot of TV, but when I do, I am usually binge-watching on Netflix or Hulu.

Music: I appreciate good musicianship and arrangements, and I think you can find that in almost any genre. Currently listening to the following albums a lot: "High Heels and Sneakers" by Tess Henley; "Doin' Something" by Soulive; "Bad Self Portraits" by Lake Street Dive.

Food: Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Thai, and snacks. I feel like I'm snacking all the time.

Also, I know this isn't one of their categories, but I listen to a lot of awesome podcasts: Monday Morning Podcast (Bill Burr), The Non-Prophets (Jeff Dee, Russell Glasser, Dennis Loubet), Hello Internet (CGP Grey and Brady Haran), FitzDog Radio (Greg Fitzsimmons), The Crabfeast (Ryan Sickler and Jay Larson), The Mick Betancourt Show (Mick Betancourt), Mohr Stories (Jay Mohr), Industry Standard (Barry Katz).
The six things I could never do without
family, friends and the ability to listen to/play music...anything else is just icing on the cake
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-why people use the expression "needless to say..." and then follow it with something that was supposedly needless to say
-why religious people are so cemented in their belief system, yet unable to defend it when questioned
-why people who claim that grammar is important to them use terrible grammar in their profiles
-why people on OKC seem to think that sarcasm is a unique personality trait
-music
-atheism/different religions
-cosmology
-technology
lots of things...
On a typical Friday night I am
I've got a regular Friday gig in South Tampa. If you're into jazz/funk/pop music, ask me where and come check us out!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Half of my bed is normally covered in clean, unfolded laundry.
