I am intelligent, relaxed, and witty.

My Self-Summary

I moved out here from San Diego about 5 years ago. I'm a pretty easy going guy. It takes a lot for me to loose my cool. I enjoy going out with friends, but can be just as happy hanging out around the house.

I love anything that has to do with the water. During the summer months I love spending as much time as possible at the river and the lake. I love the beach as well, but for some reason I'm not a huge fan of the beaches out this way. I guess they just seem too touristy for me.

When I'm not in the water I'm usually hanging out at the house or at the gym. I just started taking the MMA class they offer and I'm learning just how out of shape I am now. I'm really doing the MMA to get myself back in shape. I find that it's easier to motivate myself to go to the gym when I'm working towards something. Basically I'm saying that I'm really not an aspiring UFC fighter or anything. The idea of getting my face pounded in for a living just doesn't seem all that appealing to me. Plus, bruises don't make the greatest impression on clients LOL.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm living the American dream. I own a small business that does managed IT work. Basically I work with small and medium sized businesses who don't have a need or the budget for a full time IT staff. I do hardware and software deployment, as well as phone and remote support.

I’m really good at

I'm good at pretty much whatever I put my mind to. If I had to pick one thing in particular I would have to say problem solving. I love a good challenge and have always had a nack for figuring problems out.

The first things people usually notice about me

Most people tend to notice my eyes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Most of the time that I spend reading is furthering my professional development. Other than that I'm not a really big recreational reader lately. It's not that I don't enjoy reading. I've just been putting a lot of time into my professional development lately. Let's face it reading about computers is definitely not the most exciting thing in the world, and I'm more of a hands on kind of person. I did recently read a really good book by Greg Graffin called "Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irrelevant?: A Professor And a Punk Rocker Discuss Science, Religion, Naturalism & Christianity." It was a really interesting exchange between an evolutionary scientist and a professor at a Christian college.

As far as movies go, I'm pretty much into a little bit of everything. I love a movie that can make me laugh. Some of my favorite movies are Analyze This, Thank You for Smoking, My Cousin Vinnie, The Terminator series, and most recently Zombieland.

I've got kind of a weird taste in music. Honestly I listen to just about anything except for rap, but even then there are exceptions. In my car I've usually got it on an oldie station, or a country station. In the house I listen to a lot of punk rock. I'm really not into pop punk but listen more to bands like Social Distortion, The Misfits, Bad Religion. There's a lot more that I listen to, but they are a couple of great examples of the genre. Other than punk, some of my favorites are Red Hot Chilli Peppers (their music reminds me of home,) Oasis, 311's older stuff, Beastie Boys, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I also love live jazz. There's just something extremely relaxing about sitting around listening to some good jazz and sipping on a glass of wine.

As far as food goes, I eat just about anything that doesn't try to eat me first. There are a couple of exceptions, but for the most part I eat everything. Mexican food is my favorite, but everything out this way is extremely Americanized. I guess I was spoiled back in San Diego living 30 minutes from the border. On the bright side I've gotten really good at cooking authentic Mexican food at the house. I'm actually a pretty good chef as long as I've got a recipie to follow. My grilling skills are also 2nd to none.

The six things I could never do without

Family
Friends
My dog,
The water,
My computer,
Good food

On a typical Friday night I am

Depends on the mood. Sometimes I'm just hanging out around the house, and sometimes I'm out and about doing whatever sounds fun.
