My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm a vegetarian and animal rights
activist, but due to the fact that all my friends and family
members are omnivores, I'm not going to slaughter you for eating a
steak.
I'm an enthusiastic geek, especially when it comes to books and
certain authors. I'll read pretty much anything you throw at me,
from classic literature to graphic novels. I'm an Anglophile, and love traveling.
I love the culture and vibrancy of cities and the peacefulness of
rural areas. Somehow, I'm stuck in the middle in suburbia.
I enjoy good conversations and non-awkward silences equally. I love aimless wandering. I live in the Midwest, so whether or not I enjoy long walks on the beach is not pertinent information.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I spend most of my time on school-related activities right now,
after taking the roundabout route back to college after a year and
a half of working, traveling, and working to fund traveling. If I'm
not in class, studying, or doing homework, I'm probably with my
awesome friends who make being in Columbus pretty fabulous, or
reading something wonderful. I want to be a wonderful writer when I
grow up, but who knows whether that point will be in one year or
twenty (more likely).
I love volunteering with animal rescues and rehabilitation centers,
and my cat is the most awesome being, ever.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
I love baking, and even when the results are not fantastic, I have
a fun time in the kitchen. I'm also world-class at procrastinating
(hence updating this profile instead of working on statistics
homework).
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
My lack of height and/or any bright colors I may be wearing that
day.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
I have trouble choosing absolute favorite books, but my tops often
seem to involve the fantastical and funny, as interpreted by
British men (such as Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Alan Moore, and
Douglas Adams) and the strong and lyrical, as crafted by American
and European women (like Sylvia Plath, Ariel Gore, Ntozake Shange,
and Kitty Fitzgerald).
For movies, anything Jim Henson touched is always awesome.
Musical preferences change according to mood, but right now, I've
been listening to a lot of MGMT, Devotchka, TV on the Radio, Yelle,
Gogol Bordello, and Junior Senior. I like happy-making music.
I love baked goods and Indian food best of all, but I have yet to
find a cuisine I dislike.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Wonderful friends, my crazy and cuddly feline companion, spending
time outside, beautiful books to read, words forming into some
semblance of interest in my head, and a chance to bake delicious
foodstuff.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Life, the Universe and Everything. (The answer is 42.)
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
It depends upon how tired I am from the preceding week. If I'm not
falling over from tiredness or needing to devote the weekend to
homework, I'm either out or in with friends late into night. If I
need to catch up on my sleep deficit, I'm reading a book and going
to bed early.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I'm unreliable when it comes to updating online profiles.
You should message me if Propose an edit
I sound interesting, you're not creepy, and you did read the bit in
my profile that states that I'm just looking for friends. I think
relationships can be lovely, but right now, I'd rather just get to
know awesome people without an underlying motive of someone
expecting "more."
