My self-summary

Hi!

People say I'm easygoing, and I can get along with just about anyone. Although I have a close group of friends that mean the world to me, I have many acquaintances and love to meet people around Seattle and make new friends.

I recently started commuting to work on my bike. I used to race sailboats in college, and it's something I'd love to get back into this Summer if I can find some free time. If not actual racing, than at least a lot of day sailing. I also love kayaking.

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated university intending to go into the tech field, but found that desk/computer work wasn't the life for me, and went back to school for Culinary Arts.

I've spent several years working my way into the community of small but excellent restaurants here in Seattle, and am currently working at an upscale neighborhood cafe on Capitol Hill which I've been lucky enough to help open. My co-workers are awesome, we make a killer team and I'm proud to be working with like-minded and competent people, and for a chef that I can really learn something from and improve my skills.

At some point I want to go back to school for architecture or industrial interior design, and then move into work on consulting for building new kitchens.

Probably that I have an uncommon name, Gib.

I tend to get a lot of nicknames, my friends and coworkers often call me Gibby or Gibbers. Or, most recently, The Notorious GIB.
