My self-summary
I grew up on a farm in the north country (bonus link!), and still love wide open spaces and forests. I love hiking, kayaking, camping and getting out of the city to do awesome stuff in general. Though Vancouver is awesome in that there are many adventures to be had within city limits. I'm generally very easy-going, don't tend to plan my days out, I prefer to go with the flow. A day spent hiking 'til you're tired, dipping in the ocean to cool off, drying in the sun, and then going for delicious food is pretty much a perfect day in my books.

To balance out all that action, I love video games (especially if they have a good story), books, webcomics, and Netflix. Sometimes I even pull out the art supplies. I am a self-professed hedonist, dabble in yoga (Kundalini and Hatha) and meditation, and my interests are so varied some of them may seem to contradict.

I am refreshing, subtly sweet, and fizzy, like a soda. Also note, I may rot your teeth.
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying it!

I've dabbled with this and that, school-wise. Currently, I've started an apprenticeship in metal fabrication. I still want to learn some carpentry/joinery, build my own house one day, which will be on a plantation in Maui (already picked out the property...) I'm pretty ambitious and enthusiastic about almost everything, so I have to try to pace myself with all of my grand plans.

I've always had some vagabond in me, and though I've seen New York, and loved it, a lot of the west coast from Powell River to northern California, aaand Maui, my wanderlust has not been satisfied. One of my goals is to kayak the Sea of Cortez.

I love blanket forts and general silliness. One day, I plan to build grown-up sized playground. Short term, I'm looking forward to lots of beach time and Shambhala(!) this summer. Priorities, you know.
I’m really good at
I've spent some time writing, and have gotten good reviews. Then there's drawing, painting and sculpting. I've often been told I'm a good listener, with the eye contact and whatnot. I make a mean mango margarita. I'm a rad cook (I love challenging myself with new recipes, and literally tasting victory), an out-of-practice pianist, excellent amateur masseuse, and when it comes to improvising, I'm like MacGyver.
The first things people usually notice about me
The people were polled, they agreed it is my "kick ass hair." (I can't take credit for it, it's just on my head.) Closely followed by the fact that I'm smiling, I smile a lot, so much so people comment on it. Oh, and my laugh, I'm a throw your head back and laugh at the sky person.

I've also been told that I give off a wholesome energy and have a violet aura.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A) Dr. Hunter S. Thompson is one of my idols; Alexander Shulgin, author of PIHKAL and TIHKAL, is another hero of mine, a great inspiration, along with his wife, Ann; they are truly amazing people. Neil Gaiman, Roald Dahl (particularly those featuring Willy Wonka), Ernest Hemingway, Isaac Asimov, Robert A. Heinlein, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Piers Anthony (the first novels I read as a kid were the Xanth series), Dr. Seuss, Allen Ginsberg, Popular Music from Vittula by Mikael Niemi is great in ways that are hard to define, I strongly recommend it, along with You Can't Win by Jack Black (not the actor, the hobo)

B)The Big Lebowski, MirrorMask, Igby Goes Down, most of Quentin Tarantino's work, the films of Fred Astaire, Mr. Nobody, Phantom of the Opera, Spirited Away, Repo: The Genetic Opera, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, James Bond, Four Rooms, Where the Buffalo Roam

C) Adventure Time(!), Top Gear (UK), Doctor Who, Parks & Recreation, Archer, Big Bang Theory, Better Off Ted, Eureka, How I Met Your Mother, Peep Show, random documentary-style shows

D) David Bowie, Tom Waits, Tchaikovsky, Bartok, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Mindless Self Indulgence, Dub FX, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, Corb Lund, Southern Culture on the Skids, Arlo Guthrie, The Beatles, Erykah Badu, Prodigy, the Dreadknoughts, Black Keys, Janis Joplin, BassNectar, Mumford & Sons, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Gypsy Kings, Buddha Bar

E) I love trying new and interesting foods, whether out and about or at home. Some of my favourites for the basics though: zucchini, Pizza Garden pizza (best dough), vermicelli bowls, and pie. Oh, and I love crazy spicy food, I get really excited when I see things with ghost pepper in them, and jalapeño is a staple in my house.

I'll throw in a few games here for fun: Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, Goldeneye, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls, Far Cry, Bioshock, Metal Gear Solid

S) Favourite super"heroes": Deadpool, Batman, Gambit. I've always been fond of villains, guess I like my heroes with questionable morals and a dark side. :p
The six things I could never do without
The first bright green budding leaves in spring, grass stains on knees, laughing til my sides hurt, smiling at strangers, cuddles in blankets, and occasional thunderstorms.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Lately, I've been looking at everything and trying to figure out how to build it, improve it, repair it, etc. There are also projects being constructed in my head to be made concrete at a later date.

There's a lot of science in there, the cosmos is pretty fascinating. Speaking of, have you ever seen Carl Sagan's Cosmos? I haven't, you should watch it with me. Or the new one with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, I like him too.

I like learning about maximizing the efficiency of our bodies and minds (still need to pick up a copy of the 4-Hour Body), and find it fascinating how many disciplines from around the world relate or complement one another. A lot of the rest is filled up with my future plans, psychology, stories, philosophy, politics, whatever I'm currently reading, etc.

Also, this.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either hanging with a friend, or just relaxing/crafting at home. My Fridays are typically atypical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really can't emphasize enough the part about being enthusiastic about everything, to the point of contradiction. I'm a big ol' artsy hippie who works in a steel shop. I love wearing designer lingerie, but my favourite clothing stores are Mark's and Winners. I love to hike and explore the outdoors, especially off-trail, but I also love to kick back with Netflix or a video game; explore a world someone made up and then painstakingly crafted. Yeah, a whole lotta love going on up in here.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 23–37
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you read my profile and enjoyed it, you think living on a plantation on a tropical island sounds like the best idea, you want to chill out and go on an adventure, for a delicious beer or cocktail, you have pets and will allow me to play with them, you want to go tripping in the park or on the beach, you want to talk about books (if you've read 2010: Odyssey Two and liked it, I want to hear from you!), you want to go to Cap suspension bridge for 15% off, you have a movie/game/show/book/artist to recommend... Even if you have your own reason!
