I am able-minded, sure-footed, and left-handed.
My Self-Summary
I eat more slowly than anyone you've ever met, but only because I'm
too busy talking or thinking. I can only do one of the three at
once.
I'm sort of splitting my time between NY and London (70/30
NY/London, or thereabouts) at the moment, though I'll be moving to
London full-time in March. FYI.
What I’m doing with my life
Working for a software company. Wandering around. Lying in the
park.
I’m really good at
Languages, software-ish things, getting shit done - I tend to be a
pretty competent person.
The first things people usually notice about me
In London, they tend to notice pretty quick that I'm American. I
look pretty English, and my name is extremely English, but I tend
to give it away when I open my mouth...
In New York, I really don't know. I blend in pretty well.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: I like things that leave me unsettled and kind of
lightheaded. Or like I've just been kicked. So - A Wild Sheep
Chase, Haruki Murakami; White Teeth, Zadie Smith; Running with
Scissors, Augusten Burroughs; The Line of Beauty, Alan
Hollinghurst
Food: Recently, banh-mi.
Movies: All sorts. Nothing specific comes to mind.
Music: I usually have something playing, but rarely notice what it
is. Or rather, I notice what it is, and I either mildly like it or
mildly dislike it. So I'm hesitant to name favorites.
The six things I could never do without
Oh this is a ridiculous question.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think about all sorts of things. Sometimes I think about clothes,
or books, or whether I should get a haircut. Sometimes I think in
German. Usually about how I spent four years and far too many
credits learning German, and now I just think in it. Often, I'm
reliving some particularly humiliating experience in my past. Or
something I consider humiliating that no one else even noticed.
When I've had one drink I think about the second, and when I've had
two I think about the third. Ad nauseam. But never literally - I
have an iron constitution.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing typical Friday night things. Or atypical Friday night things.
One of the two.
That's a snarky answer, I know. Sorry.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm an Eagle Scout. I even have the card to prove it.
You should message me if
Well, it would help if you're gay. And male. My criteria beyond
that aren't well defined.
